With Leaving It All to Chance, Roomer don’t quite leave everything up to fate. The Berlin outfit’s debut album hums with guitar-driven heartbreak, pairing mind-splitting noise with seductive melodies. Capturing the gritty yet emotive energy of their live performances, the album welcomes in the occasional ear-candy, staying true to the raw physicality of a hazy club show all while sharpening its edges—crafted in true DIY spirit and released by Munich’s Squama Recordings. Roomer is the meeting point of four distinct creative forces in the European music scene, united through long-standing friendships and years of collaboration across projects ranging from avant-garde free improv to ethereal folk and ambient electronica. Inevitably—if surprisingly late—the question arose: why not start a band? In their hands, the rock band format became a canvas for their many musical worlds to collide.

Duke Garwood is a British multi-instrumentalist from London.
Duke Garwood has released six studio albums: Holy Week, Emerald Palace, The Sand That Falls, Dreamboatsafari, Heavy Love, and Garden of Ashes.
He also played guitar on The Orb’s single “Perpetual Dawn,” appeared on the first two albums (Fur and Derdang Derdang) of the rock band Archie Bronson Outfit on clarinet and rhaita (a Moroccan reed instrument), and most recently played guitar on Mark Lanegan’s album Blues Funeral and clarinet on Savages’ album Silence Yourself, among many other guest appearances.

In 2011, Garwood collaborated with artist Shezad Dawood in the concert performance ‘New Dream Machine Project’, which resumed the 1968 recording of Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones and Master Musicians of Jajouka. The new generation of “Master Musicians” and Garwood recreated that moment around the three-metre tall Dreamachine, originally invented by Brion Gysin and created for the occasion by Dawood.
In February 2013, Ipecac and Heavenly announced the signing of Duke Garwood & Mark Lanegan. Lanegan described Garwood as “one of his all time favorite artists” and working with him as “one of the best experiences of his recording life”. Their debut collaboration album Black Pudding was released in May 2013.
After a successful collaboration with Mark Lanegan, Heavenly announced it had signed Garwood in November 2014 and his next solo album Heavy Love would be released through the label on 9 February 2015. On Lanegan’s 2017 US tour, Garwood performed as the opening act, as well as a sideman in Lanegan’s band.
In 2021, Garwood featured in Morcheeba’s song “The Edge Of The World” which is the last song of their album Blackest Blue. ~ Wikipedia

Hailing from various backgrounds both musically and geographically, Swedish psych wonder MaidaVale have had the ability to capture audiences with their spirited energy ever since starting out on the Stockholm underground scenes a decade ago. The band combine neo-psychedelia and krautrock with influences ranging from post-punk, funkadelia and the North African blues.

With acclaimed debut “Tales of the Wicked West” (2016), they quickly took on big European rock scenes and festivals. More kraut influenced sophomore album “Madness is too Pure” (2018) confirmed the band’s place in the psych rock scene with its bold and experimental take on the genre, nominating them for the Swedish music prize P3 Guld in the rock category alongside acts like Graveyard.

On their forthcoming third album ‘Sun Dog’, working with producers Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm and György Barocsai, MaidaVale paint with a larger, bolder and brighter color palette, immersing themselves more than ever into their unique take on neo-psychedelia.
