Drawing a kestrel in pen and ink for a new Bookplate commission ✍🏻

Whittling a wooden stamp to - hopefully - can produce miniature medieval encaustic tiles from it for my library, attempt no. 3 (ahem! 🙄🤪). I‘m using some fairly old carving tools which were all handmade by my grandfather many, many, many moons ago and handed down to me. As it was a poor time during and after WW2 and there was not much available he just used for it whatever was at hand. I greatly believe he even hammered some leftover iron pieces into the right form to act as whittling tools. After many years still amazed by this little box every time I open it. There are even one finished and another two unfinished Edelweiss carvings in it that he must have made in his time... @ Vienna, Austria

Started painting 1:12 scale miniature cabinet cards. I have tried traditional watercolors and Faber-Castell Pitt Artists Pens, which were the better choice. Box front: unpainted, Box back: painted. @ Vienna, Austria

An old wooden air cargo box that I bought just recently, together with a second - identical - one, which I want to turn into a (probably two storey high) dollhouse miniature library. This will be a long-term - first time - project. The boxes seemed to be just right for the project. And they have a history of their own, as they have traveled often between Austria and Egypt as I have been told and which is confirmed by the labels sticking on them ... @ Vienna, Austria
