Thrilled to have had the opportunity to record and conduct Rimsky-Korsakov's masterpiece 'Sheherazade' in celebration of his anniversary 2017 together with the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra involving some of the original oriental instruments from the Orient 🎶
It was an incredible experience bringing this magic, timeless piece of the story "1001 Arabian Nights" to life and paying tribute to one of the greatest scores ever written in classical music 🌿I hope it brings you as much joy as it did for me and check my stories for the direct link to our reward winning recording 📀

🌟🎶An unforgettable evening with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra and remarkable soloists from the Accademia Teatro Alla Scala at the AKM Türk Telekom Opera Hall

🎭The night opened with iconic arias from Puccini’s masterpieces, each note capturing timeless emotion. In the 2nd half we brought Mozart’s majestic Jupiter Symphony to life, a true gem of classical brilliance and one of my personal all time favourites ♥️

Thank you, Istanbul, for sharing this beautiful moment with us!

We are taught to speak.
We are hardly taught how to listen.

Before the word — there is the gesture.
Before the gesture — there is the intention.
Before the intention — there is an always the listening.

Every great conductor I have ever witnessed knew this.🎼
Every great human being I have met - knew this. 🌿

Everything that matters in a room,
everything that creates trust, chemistry, transformation -
arrives through the ones who are completely there.

Immersed in the space, the flow of time, the moment here and now.

Not speaking.
Not thinking about speaking.
Just being present — receiving,giving, sharing 🤍

That is what these years have taught me.

Not how to lead.
How to be present.

I never asked why I do this.

Becoming a musician isn’t a career decision.

It’s a calling.
You immerse yourself.
You love the music.
You feel its infinite possibilities.
You become one with it.

Celebrated? Legendary? Eternal?

Look at Mozart. Beethoven. Schubert.
Mostly forgotten by the majority of people walking past their statues today.

Most of Earth’ citizens won’t even get the statue.

And yet — every morning the score is on the table.

Every city a new stage.
Every note a reason.

You don’t give your life to music.
Music gives life back to you 🎼

Nobody can give you a calling.
Nobody can take it away.

Stop doubting. Start doing. It’s real.

My father was a professional musician.

I grew up in concert halls before I grew up anywhere else.

And every single time —
I only had eyes for one person.

‘The one in the middle.’

I didn’t know their title.
I didn’t understand what they were doing.
I just felt it-
the centerpoint of all energies in the hall.

A force that held every string attached.

We never stop becoming our dreams,
Only -
when we choose the wrong ones.

I like to remain 3 years inside.

People think the conductor is the most powerful person in the room.

The baton makes no sound.

Neither do the hands.

Silence serves all sound.

The more I give myself to the music — the less it needs me to be anything other than present.

This is what the podium actually teaches.
