We gather the world’s unique low-intervention winegrowers and showcas Karakterre is Central and Eastern Europe's leading salon of organic, biodynamic and natural wines. Each year we gather winegrowers from all over the world in Vienna, Austria, to showcase their latest vintages and connect with both the professional and the wine loving community. Karakterre is a project created out of passion for proper wine and is run by a handful of people who are in it for the love of it.

Our story
Karakterre is Central and Eastern Europe’s leading salon of organic and biodynamic wines taking place each first weekend in December in Vienna-Austria. Now running in its eight vintage, we gather the world’s unique low-intervention winegrowers and showcase their work for a single day. We are focused on promoting wineries from the wider region that we, the organisers, originate from — the Central-Eastern European basin with specific focus on Austria and its winegrowing regions — but each year welcome grower friends from other European areas.
