A woman’s body lives by cycles. The music industry, like any other, knows no cycles. It never gets tired. And the industry doesn’t care about your cycles: if you’ve released a song, you’re supposed to promote it, push it, so that some number of people will notice it.
But it so happened that my release came out when I was exhausted. And I thought this time I’ll listen to myself and be at peace with my own cycle. I’ll talk about the song when I want to, when I have the energy. It’s especially hard to speak about something as heavy as the oppression of women and qu**rs. So I won’t oppress myself, and I’ll simply let the song exist and be heard by those who want to hear it.
And I hope it finds its way into the playlists of those for whom it matters.

Despite centuries of systematic erasure of our names, our power and our voices from history, women and FLINTA people continue to bring life in all its forms into this world and keep writing their own story. That is the greatest strength humanity has ever known.
March 20, my new song “God’s Daughter” comes out - a song holding pain and dance, catharsis, and the stories lived by women and FLINTA people. And all those who were forced to dim their flame to stay safe, to hide who they truly are, just to survive.
