“What’s in a Name? On Informal Labor, Misattribution, and the Vanishing Curator”
In the 2025 program of Discotec, I was invited to curate and formally named in a publicly funded application—only to be later removed without notice, compensation, or explanation.
This is not just a personal testimony—it’s a broader call to confront the silent normalisation of informal labor and attribution erasure in Vienna’s independent art scene.
As structural funding cuts deepen precarity, curatorial and artistic labor must not become disposable.
