About a year ago, gave us a tip about an English wine producer making absolutely elegant, outstanding wines. So we went on a trip to see it with our own eyes and, of course, have a taste.

What we found — in a place not traditionally known for its wines — was something special, not least due to the terroir of England's southeastern coast.

Here we have the WHITE CLIFFS BLANC DE BLANCS BRUT from Simpsons Wine Estate made from 100% Chardonnay, produced using the traditional bottle-fermentation method and aged on the lees for 36 months. It shows notes of brioche, citrus, and minerality.

Just recently we met at the wine fair Zero Compromise. That made us think we should once again introduce you to one of our natural wines, a truly captivating one.

Here we have our SAPERAVI NATURAL WINE 2017. This Georgian wine is very fruit-forward, with notes of black cherries, plums, blackcurrants, and bay leaf. It is full-bodied.

These bottles come straight from Spain, and the content? Nothing less than white and red, outstanding vermouth from the Sherry region in Andalusia by Bodegas Fernando de Castilla .

Vermut Blanco: White vermouth made from Palomino and Moscatel, refined with brandy and 18 herbs – full-bodied, complex, and highly aromatic. 🍃

Vermut Tinto: Made from Palomino and Pedro Ximénez, fortified with brandy, aged for a full eight years, and then refined with 27 botanicals; on the nose honey, mirabelle plums, and cocoa, on the palate herbs, earthy notes, and caramel. 🥃

Your prayers have been answered! "Can I eat ice cream with wine – and which one?" Sure, why not! Our recommendation is to choose a wine that is not too sweet and elegantly subtle, so that the result is a well-balanced moment of enjoyment.

Here we have our CRÉMANT VOUVRAY DEMI-SEC from DU Tartemain in the Loire Valley, France. This sparkling wine welcomes you with floral and green-fruit notes. Its bouquet pleasantly surprises with aromas of acacia honey and subtly recalls sponge cake.

Einem Graffiti ähnlich trägt der gleichnamige Wein das Banner „Power to the people“ auf dem Etikett. Der „Power of the people“ zeigt sich bei in der Tat, denn das serbische Weingut ist kein „klassisches“ großes Gut. Hier entstehen Weine vom sogenannten „Garagenwinzer“ – nicht aus der Großindustrie, sondern mit Handarbeit und Herz. Das haben wir sofort gespürt, als wir vor ein paar Jahren den ersten Wein von ihnen entdeckt haben.

Der GRAFFITI 2019 ist ein dichter, kraftvoller Rotwein mit reifer, dunkler Frucht, gut eingebundenem Alkohol und einem vollmundigen, leicht krautig-würzigen Abgang.

David’s Lieblingsweißwein? (Nicht irgendEIN David – unser David!) „Der Riesling von ! Der „is net nur einfach guat“, der Riesling ist ausbalanciert und hat einen guten Trinkfluss. Martina ergänzt: Der eignet sich auch perfekt zu Fischgerichten, beispielsweise für Pfingsten.

🚌📌 About the discovery story: we discovered this fine “Crémant de Die” by in the town of the same name on the Rhône on an inspiring wine fair.

🥂 Taste profile: Expect a sparkling wine reminiscent of white blossoms, ripe pear, and a spicy touch of honey, finished with an elegant perlage. Uncomplicated and lightly aromatic, it is vinified from the grape varieties Clairette, Aligoté, and Muscat, and matured for 36 months on the lees.
