🌍 STS: Accessibility as a Part of Formal and Non-Formal Education Syllabi
In the knowledge-based economy of the 21st century, new technologies and AI are driving a constant need for upskilling and reskilling. Integrating accessibility into formal and non-formal education helps not only to strengthen the EU’s capacity for innovation, but also to break down communication barriers for people with disabilities.
This ICCHP 2026 panel explores how digital accessibility can become an integral part of teaching and learning across all disciplines—from art and language studies to ICT, medicine, and business education.
Participants are invited to share examples of holistic syllabi, workshops, and training programmes that combine traditional subject areas with accessibility principles.
💡 Topics may include:
🟢 Integrating accessibility into website localization and translation
🟢 Teaching colour contrast in art and design courses
🟢 Using AI to support the translation of alternative text
🟢 Creating accessible business documents
🟢 Balancing readability, typography, and accessibility in marketing
