She is the person behind my Instagram, the one who works hard to make sure you always get the best videos and content. But she is so much more than that. She is my support, my inspiration, and the person who believes in me even when things are difficult.

Today is International Women’s Day, and I want to take a moment to say thank you and share a quote that feels very true to me:

That’s where lighting hits hard and plays a significant role.

Can you imagine a party in complete darkness? Probably not, and that’s the first reason why lighting matters - to illuminate and shape the environment in a very special way.

Less obvious, yet very crucial, are the roles light plays in setting the mood and energy of an event. The right choice of colors, shapes and intensity helps to create the desired atmosphere. For example, red and white feel energizing and stimulating, while orange and purple create more relaxed and cozy setups.

The speed of the lights, the amount of movement, and the type of lighting completely change how a show feels - from slow to fast, from dancing to jumping.

A great show is a synergy between all its elements. Professional lighting connects music, space, and movement into one immersive experience.

And as a nice bonus - good lighting makes your photos and videos look amazing. No zombie faces or washed-out skin tones :)

I’m Gerhard - a light operator with 20+ years of experience. My journey began in a tiny club with five people on the dance floor… and eventually led me to stages like Donauinselfest, Frequency, Nachtschicht Revival, and many more.

A few facts about me:
• I used to DJ as well, but nothing beats the thrill of creating the lights and visuals for a show
• Born and raised in Linz, but due to my work travelled pretty much all across Europe - I’ve seen everything from the northern lights to the Romanian mafia 😂🙈
• I hold almost every driving license category, including heavy trucks (which is very helpful in the event organization)

For me, lighting is more than a job. It is the unique way to create atmosphere at the event and to guide the crowd’s mood. I love creating customized shows for my clients and bringing vision on stage.
