// PUBLICATION – THE PRIZE BAG: DOUBLE LIFES OF ARCHITECTURE //
Following the exhibition at HDA Graz as part of the 2025 Styrian State Architecture Prize, the accompanying publication has been released. We are pleased to be featured with our project for the PALLIATIVE CARE UNIT at the Regional Hospital Southwest Styria, site Deutschlandsberg, developed for our client, KAGes – Steiermärkische Krankenanstaltengesellschaft m.b.H.
Curated by Sevince Bayrak and Oral Göktaş of SO? architecture, the exhibition took a critical look at architecture awards and the narratives they create. By uncovering the collaborative, imperfect, and often unseen realities behind shortlisted projects, "The Prize Bag" reveals architecture's "double life" – the tension between representation and use, polished images and lived experience – and repositions architectural prizes as a platform for discussion rather than mere evaluation.
We would like to thank the curatorial team and the HDA Graz for a successful exhibition and extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the honored and winners. For more information about the publication featuring all 14 nominated projects, visit the link.

// PANEL AT PERSPECTIVE EUROPE 2026 FORUM IN ROME //
We would like to thank the Perspective Forum team and THE PLAN Magazine for the invitation and organization of the panel discussion “Beyond Development: Architecture, Placemaking and Sustainability” at Perspective Forum in Rome. The panel addressed a highly relevant question for the industry today: What does it truly mean to go beyond development?
The conversation explored how architecture today goes beyond creating buildings to generating long-term social, environmental, and urban value. Anastasija Lesjak (13&9 Design and ScienceDesignLab) and Martin Lesjak (INNOCAD architecture) shared insights on transdisciplinary design, neuroscience, sustainability, and the role of architecture in improving well-being and quality of life.
A key takeaway was the importance of holistic thinking and cross-disciplinary dialogue in shaping more sustainable built environments. For more information, visit the link. https://www.theplan.it/eng/whats_on/beyond-development-architecture-placemaking-and-sustainability

// LECTURE AND MEDIATION INSIDE THE FRACTAL CHAPEL AT THE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL OF GRAZ //
Join architect Martin Lesjak for an evening at the FRACTAL CHAPEL, offering personal insights into the ideas, research, and interdisciplinary process that shaped this unique space. The event is organized by the Bildungsforum bei den Minoriten, the Evangelical Church of Styria (A.B.), and the Office for Hospital and Nursing Home Ministry of the Diocese of Graz-Seckau.
Drawing on years of collaboration with Richard Taylor (Fractals Research and University of Oregon) and Anastasija Lesjak (13&9 Design and ScienceDesignLab), Martin Lesjak explores how fractal patterns found in nature influence human perception and how these insights shaped the design of the chapel. Inspired by biophilic design principles, the project translates findings from science, architecture, art, and spirituality into a contemplative spatial experience.
The evening concludes with a guided meditation led by Christian Graf, hospital chaplain and member of the project team from its earliest stages. Having accompanied the chapel from its inception and continuing to care for its life today, he brings a unique perspective to this shared experience of the space.
The lecture "Fraktale Muster und ihre Wirkung auf den Menschen" will take place on June 18, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Discover the ideas behind the FRACTAL CHAPEL, gain personal insights into its creation, and experience the space through both reflection and meditation. // GROUNDBREAKING: RLB OÖ CAMPUS IN LINZ //
We are delighted that the official launch of construction for the new headquarters of Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich has taken place. An important milestone for a project that will shape the cityscape of Linz in the future.
Designed by HENN architects as a contemporary hybrid timber building, the project brings together an international team consisting of HENN architecture, SODA Designers, HofmanDujardin architecture and interior design, and INNOCAD architecture.
Our role encompasses the interior design concept for the customer center, the workspaces—including the atrium areas—and the executive level.
This visionary project is now entering its next phase, and we look forward to bringing these ideas to life together with all project partners. More information can be found via the link below.

// CASA S FEATURED IN LUXERY ESTATE MAGAZINE //
Our project CASA S was recently featured in the latest issue of Luxury Estate Magazine, a monthly supplement of the newspaper Die Presse. Described as a "cool new home with a pitched roof," the project offers a contemporary interpretation of the suburban single-family house. Rather than replicating familiar typologies, CASA S translates them into a reduced architectural language defined by clarity, proportion, and material precision.
The magazine focuses on high-end residential architecture, real estate, and contemporary living with a strong connection to place, presenting projects that combine architectural quality and design excellence.
CASA S reflects this approach through the precise use of timber as both a structural and atmospheric element. Generous openings frame the surrounding landscape, while a more enclosed wooden shell shapes the private upper floor, balancing openness and retreat within a coherent spatial concept. // XALec FEATURED IN XILENCE CATALOG //
Recently featured in the current Xilence catalog, XALec demonstrates how evidence-based design strategies can meaningfully shape the contemporary workplace. XALec demonstrates how principles of biophilic and science-based design interwove to shape a holistic office environment around focus, wellbeing, and human performance.
A central design element is the integration of large acoustic wall panels featuring fractal structures, based on the research of ScienceDesignLab – a collaboration between Prof. Richard Taylor (University of Oregon and Fractals Research, USA) and 13&9 Design. Embedded within the spatial and acoustic layers of the interior, these elements become part of a broader architectural concept that addresses both atmosphere and function.
Rather than acting as decorative motifs, these geometries contribute to a calm yet stimulating environment, supporting concentration and reducing stress through spatial qualities grounded in scientific research. // FRACTAL LIGHTING AT LOVE THAT DESIGN //
Big thanks to Love That Design, a platform with a pioneering community of architects, strategists, innovators, and tech enthusiasts, for featuring our project MOSH Bar & Dinner in Bucharest.
The interior of this "multitalented space" is defined by transformation, connectivity, and collective experience. At its core is a fractal lighting concept developed by 13&9 Design and Fractals Research, which continuously adapts throughout the night—from vibrant dining atmosphere to intimate bar setting, and finally into a dynamic, kinetic installation that animates the entire space.
More than a visual feature, the fractal patterns are rooted in scientific research and are associated with stress-reducing effects, creating an environment that feels both stimulating and calming at the same time.
