For generations, they have provided food, protected our villages, and supported families who rely on these resources to survive.

As wetlands disappear, so do the benefits they provide to our people, our environment, and future generations. This short documentary shares why protecting these precious ecosystems means protecting Fa’asamoa itself.

Special thanks to the American Samoa Department of Commerce for supporting this important initiative.

We celebrate the life of Fiu Loia Gutu, a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who faithfully served the government and his community for many years. His legacy of love, service, and family will live on for generations to come.
