Lyonne: ’Buenos Aires’

Sangskriver, sanger og musiker Lyonne (Vanina Lyon) deler sin private og professionelle tid mellem sin hjemby Buenos Aires, sin adoptivby København, hvor hun hare været bosiddende de sidste syv år, og sit kreative yndlingstilflugtssted i New York.

Derfor er det ingen stor overraskelse, at hendes nye album har fået titlen Buenos Aires, for Lyonne har hentet inspiration i sine egne argentinske rødder. Albummet er anden del af en trilogi med fokus på de tre byer der har formet hende.

I de 13 nye sange fornemmer man klart det paradoks som Buenos Aires repræsenterer for Lyonne. Byen tiltrækker og frastøder hende på samme tid. Det indfanges bl.a. på førstesinglen Lost My Mind, hvor Lyonne beskriver byens konfliktfuldhed og rå energi, der får hende til at tabe besindelsen.

Albummet indeholder bl.a. brug af bandoneón, et argentinsk instrument, som minder om harmonika, og som er meget brugt inden for tango. Det høres f.eks. i åbnings- og titelnummeret Buenos Aires (You Hurt Me Sometimes) der i øvrigt også forekommer i flere andre versioner, bl.a en forrygende spansk udgave. Ligeledes i Lost My mind og Rivadavia. Andre stærke tracks er også de mere pop-jazzede Little Piece Of Heaven og Lay My Base.

På Buenos Aires kanaliserer Lyonne sin vrede og frustration ind i en lyd, hvor moderne singer-songwriter-pop og vokaljazz fusionerer med tangoelementer og moderne komposition.

Lyonne kan opleves live den 7. februar på Admiral Hotel i København i forbindelse med VinterJazz.

The Buenos Aires tour involved more than the Capital. We played concerts at Pinamar and Cariló and had a blast in the sunshine.

We played a cozy concert at Mosto in Pinamar, a lovely wine bar that you must visit if you are around. Thank you Clara! .pinamar

El tour de Buenos Aires involucró más que la Capital Federal. Tocamos también en Pinamar y Cariló y lo pasamos bárbaro en el sol.

El concierto en Mosto fue íntimo y especial. Si están por Pinamar, no se pierdan esta vinoteca con mucho charm. Gracias Clara!
