We use “give up” when someone stops a habit or activity permanently.
💡 Structure:
give up + verb (-ing)
→ “give up smoking”, “give up drinking”, “give up eating sugar”
🚫 Common mistakes:
“turn off” → for machines/devices
“take out” → remove something
📌 Example:
“I gave up smoking two years ago.”
