The finish line is never reached alone.
Recently, our Alltech Brazil team gathered in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil, for the 140-kilometer Volta à Ilha relay race — a powerful reminder that endurance is rarely about individual performance. It’s about trust, consistency and the willingness to keep moving forward together.
In a relay, there are moments when you lead and moments when you support. Some stretches feel effortless. Others are run uphill in the heat. But progress happens because someone is always there to carry the momentum forward.

That lesson extends far beyond running.
The strongest teams are not built on perfection. They are built on shared effort, encouragement and the understanding that success is rarely achieved alone. Over time, those shared experiences create something even more valuable than results: relationships.
During the race, Dr. Kyle McKinney, vice president of Innovation at Alltech, and I reflected on how movement has a way of creating community. A simple decision to get active, show up and participate can open the door to new friendships, fresh perspectives and renewed energy.
For years, running has been part of Alltech’s culture — from runs with Dad and former Alltechian Jorge Arias, to relay races in Brazil and Kentucky, including the Bourbon Chase, which we have supported for nearly two decades, to our most recent 2026K Charitable Challenge. We know that bringing people together through movement is not only a way to improve fitness, but also the heart of building stronger teams.
You do not have to start with a marathon. You do not have to be the fastest. The important thing is to begin.
Walk the first kilometer. Encourage the teammate beside you. Keep showing up.

Consistency compounds. Teams grow stronger. And step by step, we move farther together.

Back in Kentucky after a powerful few days in Argentina.

We had the opportunity to bring World Without Cows to life alongside our partners at Suizo Argentina, and what they created was one of the most engaging screenings we’ve seen.

It felt like a return to our lecture tour roots. A full room, strong representation across the industry, and meaningful dialogue about the role of agriculture in society.

Argentina is one of the world’s leading beef producers, known for high-quality, pasture-raised systems. Much of its livestock production is grass-based, making it an important reference point in conversations around sustainability. And agriculture remains a major driver of the economy, helping feed both the country and the world.

What stood out most was the opportunity ahead. In Argentina, many of the conversations around sustainability and agriculture are at a different stage, creating a moment not to react, but to lead.

A sincere thank you to our hosts at Suizo Argentina, and to our panelists Gabriel Gualdoni, Cristian Chiavassa, Daniel Fenoglio and Franco Santangelo for bringing together such a thoughtful and forward-looking discussion.

Together, this feels like more than a partnership. It’s a new beginning.

World Without Cows Ireland: The Pasture Paradox is now live.

When people think of our family home, Ireland, they think of the color green. Often touted for feeding populations multiple times bigger than its own through its food production, Ireland is home to one of the world’s most recognized pasture-based dairy systems — built on grass, rainfall and generations of family farms. But behind that success lies a more complex story.

World Without Cows Ireland: The Pasture Paradox takes an inside look at Ireland’s dairy landscape — a global model for sustainable production — as producers work to meet growing demand for grass-fed dairy while protecting the land and water on which they depend.

Ireland plays an outsized role in feeding the world. Yet the pressures that come with that leadership are often less understood:

• Generational shifts in the farming workforce
• Changing policies and geopolitical pressures
• Tight margins in a global marketplace
• A growing disconnect between consumers and agriculture
• The challenge of maintaining productive pastures while protecting rivers and waterways

For Alltech and the Lyons family, this story is particularly meaningful. Ireland’s deep roots in our company’s history make this more than a film — it’s a conversation about the future of food, farming and sustainability.

Today, it seems appropriate that I am in Argentina, home of the largest Irish population in South America, screening World Without Cows with our partners Suizo Argentina and joining a panel discussion — continuing this dialogue with producers and partners who are shaping agriculture in their own regions.

Because when over 140 countries rely on your food production…
the responsibility — and the conversation — becomes global.

Curiosity isn’t just about asking questions — it’s about creating better answers.

I’ve often found that curiosity is a barometer for engagement.

When the questions stop coming, it’s usually a sign we’re tired, stretched thin or simply not at our best. But when we’re energized, curious and open, opportunities begin to appear.

Early in my career, I spent a short time working as a journalist. That experience shaped how I think about leadership and business today.

Good journalists ask thoughtful questions — and even more importantly, they listen. After all, we have two ears and one mouth for a reason.

Curiosity encourages us to listen more deeply, understand more fully and, ultimately, make better decisions.

Curiosity has also pushed me outside of my comfort zone, to new countries, new cultures and new experiences.

In moments when we don’t know anyone in the room, curiosity often determines whether we sit back or step forward and engage.

More often than not, it’s those moments of curiosity that lead to growth.

At Alltech, curiosity is one of our core values. It’s what drives innovation — whether we’re exploring new science, embracing emerging technologies like AI or simply learning from one another.

When we foster curiosity, we create an environment in which new ideas can take root and new opportunities can grow.

This week, I encourage you to stay curious. Ask one more question. Start one new conversation. Explore one new idea.

You never know where curiosity might lead.

Because curiosity doesn’t just expand what we know — it expands what’s possible.

One of the best pieces of advice I received early in my career was simple: take risks.

At the time, the opportunity felt massive — but when I put it in perspective, I realized most roles are not final exams. They’re training grounds.

We’re not here to manage incremental growth. We’re here to move things forward.

That requires a willingness to try, to stretch and to learn — even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed.

In a world that values certainty, taking thoughtful risks is becoming a rare and valuable skill.

So this week: where can you take one?

Every year on St. Patrick’s Day, people around the world celebrate Ireland — our culture, history and deep connection to the land.

For those of us at Alltech, it’s a moment to reflect on the Irish heritage that shaped our values of friendship, passion and storytelling.

In that spirit, we’re excited to share the teaser for World Without Cows Ireland: The Pasture Paradox, our latest storytelling journey, this time in the Emerald Isle — one of the world’s most efficient pasture-based dairy systems.

This new mini-documentary, which will be released in April, explores how Irish farmers are navigating the tension between meeting global demand for grass-fed dairy and protecting the land and water that sustain it.

It’s part of our broader effort to cultivate conversations through World Without Cows — helping curious people better understand the role agriculture plays in nourishing the world.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Coach Lou Holtz.

My father only asked two people for an autograph in his life: Ronald Reagan and Lou Holtz. That told me something about the respect he had for the legendary coach who helped shape University of Notre Dame football. Coach Holtz was someone whom he admired not just because of his commitment to winning, but to his players, and his sharp wit and ability to tell a story — one of our core Alltech values.

When my sister, Dr. Aoife Lyons, was a student at the University of Notre Dame, Dad and I had the chance to attend many games together. It gave us the opportunity to witness Coach Holtz’s leadership firsthand — the discipline, belief and character he instilled in his teams. Those days are such fond memories to me, especially of an era when college football meant so much, not just as a sport, but as an inspiration.

His impact went far beyond football. He shaped generations of players, fans and leaders who believed in something bigger than themselves.

Rest in peace Coach.

“Do what makes your heart sing.”

It was more than advice from our founder, Dr. Pearse Lyons — it was a way of life.

For more than two decades, the Alltech Vocal Scholarship Competition has helped young artists pursue their passion, step onto the stage and find their voice. In a world where arts funding is becoming more scarce, this program is a reminder that talent deserves opportunity — and dreams deserve support.

From nervous first notes to standing ovations, these students embody courage, discipline and joy. And joy is powerful. It fuels excellence. It sustains purpose. It changes lives.

Belief has always been at the heart of the Alltech Vocal Scholarship Competition, and on Sunday at the 21st annual event, that belief was on full display.

Sixteen exceptional finalists took the stage, competing for more than $700,000 in prizes and scholarships. Yet what moved me most was not the scale of the awards, but the depth of commitment each student brought to the moment — years of discipline, courage and quiet perseverance, culminating in a few powerful minutes on stage.

This competition began more than two decades ago with a friendship between my father, Dr. Pearse Lyons, and Dr. Everett McCorvey of the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre. Together, they shared a conviction that young people should be encouraged to “do what makes their hearts sing.” That conviction — that belief in potential before it is fully realized — has grown into one of the largest opera competitions of its kind in the world.

Since its inception, the program has enabled more than 200 students to pursue their musical ambitions and has awarded more than $12 million in scholarships and prizes. This year’s undergraduate and graduate winners now join a remarkable community of vocalists whose journeys began with someone choosing to believe in them.

To every finalist who stepped onto that stage, congratulations. Getting there required sacrifice, resilience and trust in your own voice. Your futures are bright, and we are honored to play part in the path ahead.

I am deeply grateful to our judges, our partners and the University of Kentucky community for continuing to elevate the arts and invest in the next generation of performers. The arts foster creativity, empathy and imagination — qualities our world needs now more than ever.

At Alltech, we often say that belief powers performance. When families, mentors and communities come together to support a young person’s dream, extraordinary things can happen. Sunday evening was a reminder that when belief is shared, it does more than inspire a performance — it shapes a life.

Earlier this month, we launched Akralos™, a North American joint venture between Alltech and ADM that brings together Alltech companies Hubbard Feeds in the United States and Masterfeeds in Canada with ADM’s U.S. feed business.

Last week, Alltech and Akralos leadership connected with Masterfeeds team members at Masterfeeds headquarters in London, Ontario.

During their visit, the group toured Masterfeeds' Stratford mills and the Stratford Agri Analysis lab, and they also celebrated 22 team members who were recognized with 10-year Alltech service pins.
