The Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems (IIAP NAS RA) is pleased to host a seminar by Prof. Anastas Mishev, a leading expert in collaborative computing, open science, and European digital infrastructures.
📌 Seminar Title:
VEZILKA – The North Macedonian AI Factory Antenna as a Key Enabler in the Innovation Ecosystem
During the seminar, Prof. Mishev will present how VEZILKA, North Macedonia's AI Factory Antenna, supports the country's innovation ecosystem by connecting the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), the AI Factory Antenna (AIFA), and the National Competence Centre (NCC). The presentation will also explore opportunities for collaboration with IIAP in key domains, including:
🔹 Natural Language Technologies
🔹 Sustainability
🔹 Healthcare
🔹 Agriculture
🔹 Public Administration
👤 About the Speaker
Prof. Anastas Mishev is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia. With experience in more than 40 international projects, he has played a pivotal role in developing digital and research infrastructures across Southeast Europe. He serves on the Governance Board of the EOSC Association, the Governing Board of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, and has been instrumental in advancing Open Science initiatives and the European Open Science Cloud in North Macedonia.
This seminar offers an excellent opportunity for researchers, innovators, and students interested in AI infrastructures, European research collaboration, and the future of digital innovation.

🌌 Exploring the Universe with Supercomputing 🌌
At the Aznavour Supercomputing Center ( ), we’re proud to support research that unlocks the mysteries of the Universe.
Recent publications by Dr. Narek Sahakyan (ICRANet-Armenia) and collaborators showcase how high-performance computing and artificial intelligence are transforming the study of blazars-some of the most powerful astrophysical sources in the Universe. Our infrastructure contributed to the computational work behind these breakthroughs.

📑 Time-resolved study of blazar OJ 287 (2008–2023), Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society (2025)

By combining neural networks with large-scale simulations, researchers can now model complex emissions faster and more accurately-while long-term data analysis reveals how these extreme objects evolve over time.
