One of the big promises of the “AI revolution” is to make engineers more productive — but does it actually work for Test-Driven Development?
In this session, Matthias takes a practical look at using AI assistants like Claude and Cursor in real TDD workflows. Does AI make you faster, or does it get in the way? Can we really “talk code into existence”? And how does disciplined TDD change the outcome when working with AI?

With deep experience in Kotlin Multiplatform since 2019 and strong community involvement as an organizer of KUG Berlin, GDG Android Berlin, and XTC Berlin, Matthias brings hands-on insights and honest learnings from daily practice.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Erik Arakelyan, Senior Researcher at NVIDIA, to DevFest Armenia 2025! ⚡️

Talk: Shrink It, Skip It, Compress It — Speedrunning Fast LLM Inference

LLMs are powerful, but real-time inference is still a major bottleneck. In this session, Erik frames LLM acceleration as a “speedrun” and walks through a practical toolkit for faster, cheaper inference — from sparse attention (skipping redundant compute), to quantization (shrinking precision without losing quality), and FlashAttention (optimizing memory access for throughput). Expect a theory + practice blend aimed at real production impact, including edge deployment considerations.

Erik is a Machine Learning Researcher at NVIDIA focused on reasoning in AI, explainability, and knowledge graphs, with a PhD from the University of Copenhagen.

That’s why we’ll be providing a FREE shuttle bus to the venue on the day of DevFest Armenia 2025.
