On August 9, as part of the “musæum” project by RAMBALKOSHE and Գրականության և արվեստի թանգարան , LFA hosted a pop-up Carpet Reading Club.
•
The reading took place on a carpet in a room of the former Consulate of Persia. Inspired by the space, we chose to discuss “The Emotional Power of Space” (2023) by Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine, focusing on a fragment featuring 2026 Pritzker Prize laureate Smiljan Radić. Afterward, guests enjoyed a self-guided reading session with a curated selection from the LFA collection.

Օգոստոսի 9-ին, RAMBALKOSHE -ի և Գրականության և արվեստի թանգարան -ի «musæum» նախագծի շրջանակում LFA-ն անցկացրեց pop-up ընթերցանության ակումբ։

Ընթերցանությունը տեղի ունեցավ Պարսկաստանի նախկին հյուպատոսարանի սենյակներից մեկում՝ գորգի վրա։ Փառատոնի տարածքը ոգեշնչեց մեզ անդրադառնալու այն հարցին, թե ինչպես է տարածությունն ազդում մեր ընկալման վրա։ Ուստի ընտրեցինք Իլա Բեկայի և Լուիզ Լեմուանի 2023 թ․ «The Emotional Power of Space» գիրքը, որտեղից ընթերցեցինք և քննարկեցինք 2026 թ․ Պրիցկերի մրցանակակիր Սմիլյան Ռադիչի հատվածը։
Այնուհետև հյուրերը միացան ինքնուրույն ընթերցանության հատվածին՝ ուսումնասիրելով LFA-ի հավաքածուից ընտրված գրքերը։

The reading will take place on a carpet in a room of the former Consulate of Persia. Inspired by the festival space, we chose to discuss “The Emotional Power of Space” (2023) by Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine, which explores how surroundings shape our psychological and emotional states through conversations with 12 renowned architects.
•
Together, we will discuss a fragment featuring 2026 Pritzker Prize laureate Smiljan Radić, known for projects including Serpentine Pavilion 2014 and Teatro Regional del Biobío, where space is imagined through striking physical contrasts and emotional tension. .
•
Afterward, guests can enjoy a self-guided reading session with a curated selection from the LFA collection, exploring books on architecture, art, design, and the theme of space.

Continuing the Live Archive public program, on Thursday, August 6, at 20:00, LFA will host a lecture titled “Preserve for Whom” with HiHaleb x Sudanahye.
•
Hi Haleb, is a digital community archive that attempts to centralize, digitize, document and curate the everyday life of Aleppo – Armenians; through oral histories, GIS mapping and digital photo archives this archive seeks to co-construct Aleppo-Armenians’ collective memory written by the people for the people.
•
Sudanahye is the Sudanese-Armenian Heritage Project, a multimedia research project documenting the history of the Sudanese-Armenian community. The project is establishing an oral history and photographic archive to document the history of the community and preserve the heritage and culture of the Sudanese Armenian community.
•
The event will bring together both projects to present their archival practices through a case study of a shared spatial element. A moderated Q&A will place the two approaches in dialogue, opening broader questions about archiving, memory, and community.

«Հայ Հալէպը» թուայնացած համայնքային արխիւէ, որ կը փորձէ ներկայացնել, արձանագրել, թուայնացնել եւ համակարգել Հալէպի հայութեան առօրեայ կեանքի փաստացի տեղեկութիւնները։ Բանաւոր պամութիւններու, GIS քարտէսներու եւ թուայնացած նկարներու միջոցով կը ձգտի վերականգնել Հալէպի հայերուն հաւաքական յիշողութիւնը:

«Սուտանահայնը» Սուտանահայ Ժառանգութեան Նախագիծն է՝ բազմամիջավայրային հետազօտական նախագիծ մը, որ փաստաթուղթ կը դարձնէ Սուտանահայ համայնքի պատմութիւնը։ Նախագիծը կը հիմնէ բանաւոր պատմութեան եւ լուսանկարչական արխիւ:

As we continue to share the knowledge collected on the platform, we highlight works that show how research can emerge from, contribute to, and strengthen community-based initiatives, academic studies, and collaborative projects. Selected examples reflect this approach.

On Live Archive, you can find Re-School’s “Research of territories and settlements historically associated with the Tatev Monastery in order to be nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site,” which interprets the cultural landscape through a four-stage methodology based on collective investigation. Workshop materials later became the foundation for the 2025–26 annual research program on Shinuhayr.

You can also discover Anna Prilutckaia and Namor Votilav’s “Rumor Ruler for Measuring Cities,” exploring rumors as a methodology for studying the city and collecting informal knowledge.

As we continue to share the knowledge collected within the framework of Live Archive, we would like to highlight the methodology and framework initiated by HYPHEN4 within the project From Data to Change.

On June 19, LFA hosted the second public event of Live Archive, Presented by the HYPHEN4 team: Siuneh Arakelian and Meri Pepanyan, titled “From Data to Change.” During the event, they discussed how education, technology, and community engagement can transform local knowledge into spatial data.
•
From Data to Change empowers communities to transform local knowledge into actionable data by connecting education, technology, and civic participation.
•

We are excited to share that our Lead Research Coordinator, Meri Pepanyan Meri Pepanyan , participated in the “Inequalities and the City: Old Issues, New Challenges” RC21 2026 conference in Vienna.

Taking place from 20–22 July 2026, RC21 brought together around 1200 researchers from around the world to explore diverse perspectives on the complex challenges shaping urban environments today.
•
Meri’s presentation reflected on ordinary architecture as a tool for reading urban inequalities in Yerevan. Drawing on LFA’s ongoing research and its participation in “(ordinary) architecture. Yerevan,” the Armenian Pavilion’s curatorial theme at the 24th Triennale Milano, explored how exhibition making, community engagement, and collaborative research can reveal inequalities embedded in the city’s ordinary spaces, practices, and infrastructures.

The presentation was held as part of Panel Discussion #61, “Damaged Landscapes: The Politics of Care in Cities of Accumulated Risk.”
