🎥 We went to Savoca today to see a couple places that “The Godfather” was filmed in Sicily.
💭 It was something out of my dreams. Never did I ever think I would get to see the church where Michael and Apolonia got married or where Michael asked her father if he could marry her… How is this my life now?!?!

😱Linguists have said that if a language isn’t in a constant state of change that it will die off. This is what happened to Latin and ancient Greek.
☀️ It has been one week since I lost the sunshine of my life. One week of trying to figure out how to move on or if I should just stay in bed with the covers over my head.
🇮🇹 But, it seems Italy has bigger plans for me. So, like language, I am in a constant state of change. Change is scary, for sure. Some changes are amazing: engagements, new pets, big moves… and some changes are earth shattering: divorce, death, loss…
🪴I’m not ready for any big changes so I’m starting small. Today, I did something I have notoriously hated: I played in dirt. I have been craving salsa and I just can’t find cilantro here in Italy. A couple weeks ago, Andrew bought me some cilantro plants. Admittedly, I have left them in their small pots for too long and they have started to die off, much like Latin.
🌱So I decided they needed a change if they were to live. Bigger pots, fresh soil, water, and some sunlight… I have the black thumb of doom so hopefully this helps my little cilantro plants.
🌈And hopefully this helps me too.
🌅Change is terrifying. But without change… we die off. So here’s to change, however scary it may be.

Things in Italy that just make sense: a drying rack for dishes right above the sink so it doesn’t take up counter space and drips down. It is also covered by a cabinet so it’s not messy. Italy wins again!
