Wizard racing is an A-Class sailing boat representing District 7, Anguilla. Created by M. We vow to never settle, as success is our only terminal.
Hughes over 20 years ago, we are a youth-driven team defined by passion and resilience. Powered by a young captain and crew, we brings energy and strong competition. The history of De wizard is very rich dating all the way back to 1980’s owned and built by Morris Hughes the brother of the late Albert “Belto” Hughes. The Wizard of old was captained by the late Lawrence "Balday" Fleming, a name synonymous with integrity. She was considered a giant in the era of greats such as the Natalie, and the Blue Bird. Fast forward to today; from 2019 to present,
Exhibited with the same name, same owner, new hull and of course a young and agile crew, we are proud and even honoured to have Derick “Fritz”Carty in command as one of the youngest most talented and passionate captains in the sport . Being arguably one of the youngest crew in our class, perhaps even the youngest in the history of the sport. Hence we aim to make a name for ourselves and to have our efforts duly recognized. Our sights are set towards becoming one of the most competitive and most acclaimed sailing teams on Anguilla. Our philosophy is that ‘There is no I in team.’ We believe that hard work, patience and perseverance are vital factors of a team effort. We simply show up , combine our strengths and create a energy that takes us over the line. We are fortunate to have one of the greatest sponsors in our corner as they have made it quite possible for us to achieve. A big shout out to Belmond Cap Juluca. and also a big thank you to TMR construction. We will continue to make you and the fans proud.

You see the races, the colors, the boats, the wins, the losses, and the sponsors' names in the sails far too often, but you very seldom get to see the faces of those who dedicate themselves to this special sport.
We aim to rectify that by presenting Team Wizard.
Continuing with a young lady who is no stranger to boat racing, but brings a whole different level of energy and enthusiasm to the team.
