As a longtime collector of Caribbean literature since the 1980s, I'm always excited when a book truly stays with me after I've turned the last page.

I just finished Tall Is Her Body by Robert de la Chevotiere, and I have to say, this was one book I did not want to end. (Spoiler alert!) I found myself wishing there were a sequel, especially one centered on the baby, Dominica. The characters and story have lingered in my thoughts long after I closed the book. Robert de la Chevotiere has quickly become one of my favorite authors.

For fellow lovers of Caribbean literature, I also highly recommend anything by Anthony Winkler, Edwidge Danticat, Olive Senior, Junot Díaz, and Beryl Gilroy.

I love the story of the Bermuda moon gate. The first one I saw was in 1990 when we stayed at The Reefs. Over the years, my family, my partner, and I have walked through many of them together. Passing through them is said to bring luck and lasting happiness in marriage. The Reefs, Bermuda

The moon gate has become so special to us that my partner and I each got a permanent reminder of what it represents to us. 💙

My first trip to The Reefs Bermuda was in 1990, and I’ve been returning ever since for so many reasons — the beach, the gardens, the warm welcoming vibe, and the traditions that keep drawing me back year after year.

Last week, I had lunch at Coconuts, still my favorite seaside dining spot in Bermuda. The fish nachos? Absolute heaven. And of course, I had to order a frozen Dark ’n Stormy. The view… wow. Service? A+. Sandy feet, sunshine overhead, waves gently lapping the shore — one of those unforgettable Bermuda moments that never gets old.

The Night-Blooming Cereus, or “Queen of the Night,” blooms only once a year for a single night making it a rare and magical sight. It symbolizes beauty in fleeting moments, patience, resilience, transformation, and good fortune. A reminder that even in darkness, something extraordinary can bloom. A beautiful experience on Bermuda!!

I travel to Bermuda 2–3 times a year, and one of my favorite traditions is sampling Rum Swizzles everywhere I go. 🍹

This trip, the BEST Rum Swizzle was hands down at St. Regis. I also sipped a few at Swizzle Inn, The Wharf, and Achilles, but St. Regis took the crown this time.

The weather in Bermuda is absolutely glorious right now. ☀️ No sargassum at Achilles Bay, Fort St. Catherine’s, or The Reefs. The Easter Lilies are in full bloom, the winds are light, and the skies are brilliantly blue — perfect weather straight into the weekend.

I’ve always loved the phrase “Bermuda High.” 🌺

Lunch at Coconuts was fantastic, and dinner at Achilles was simply sublime. And this Friday, the Bermuda Day Parade takes over Hamilton in the afternoon — definitely not to be missed! 🇧🇲
