DUTIES - Preparing Fiber Optic cables-Building Splice Enclosures- Fusion Splicing- OTDR Testing-Light Source/Power Meter Testing-Responding to emergency fiber optic failures-Testing, troubleshooting and restoration of fiber optic infrastructure- Proper care, use and upkeep of company vehicles and equipment BENEFICIAL EXTRAS- Basic knowledge of Coaxial ,CAT 5-6 cable,ability to troubleshoot and maintain network.
Experience with aerial/underground design and construction of fiber optic infrastructure- Experience with Fiber Characterization Testing- Basic knowledge of fiber optic theory-Minimum 1 year hands on experience with fiber optics -Strong verbal and written skills-Ability to read and interpret construction prints, plans and specifications-Must be computer proficient-Ability to see and discern color- Able to lift up to 50lbsPOSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS-Able to lift up to 50lbs.- Ability to see and discern color- Ability to work at elevated heights-Ability to work in manhole systems- Ability to be on call 24/7/365 on a rotating basis-Moderate Travel Required-Able to work in seasonal elements
