Together, the two volumes cover 21 of the traditionally recognized 99 Names of Allah. While Sahih Muslim records a hadith affirming that Allah has 99 Names, some scholars maintain that the divine Names exceed this number, with only 99 revealed to humanity. The text’s methodological approach is primarily devotional rather than analytical: complex theological concepts are translated into accessible reflections, designed to foster emotional intimacy with the Divine and cultivate spiritual tranquility in everyday life.

From a critical standpoint, the book’s strength lies in its accessibility and pastoral tone. It functions as a spiritual companion, offering encouragement and psychological comfort through narratives and reflections. However, its reliance on anecdotal and affective exposition, rather than rigorous theological or exegetical analysis, may be considered a limitation, particularly given the sensitivity of discourse on the Divine Attributes. The work is therefore best categorized as a spiritual “refresher” rather than a systematic theological treatise.

It is noteworthy that Because You Are Allah belongs to a broader genre of modern Islamic spiritual literature that emphasizes emotional resonance and accessibility over scholastic rigor. Comparable works include Don’t Be Sad (La Tahzan) by Aaidh ibn Abdullah al-Qarni, which similarly employs a reflective and motivational style to address themes of faith, resilience, and hope. Both texts exemplify a trend in contemporary Islamic publishing that seeks to bridge.

نقد و بررسی کتاب «بزرگان و قرآن» (حال السلف مع القرآن):
کتاب (بزرگان و قرآن) برگردان فارسی اثر ارزشمند دکتر ناصر بن ناصر بدر با عنوان اصلی (حال السلف مع القرآن) است که توسط علی‌آقا صالحی ترجمه و از سوی نشر احسان به بازار عرضه شده است. این اثر با هدف تبیین پیوند عمیق و انس عملیِ سلف صالح با کلام الهی تدوین شده و تلاش دارد چگونگی بازتاب آیات الهی در منش و سلوک فردی بزرگان صدر اسلام را به تصویر بکشد.
با وجود اهمیت موضوع و تلاش نویسنده در انتقال مفاهیم از سطح الفاظ به عمق عمل، بررسی انتقادی این اثر از منظر روش‌شناسی و محتوایی، نکاتی را برجسته می‌سازد که در ادامه به آن‌ها اشاره می‌شود:
۱. غلبه رویکرد فردگرایانه و فقدان تحلیل ساختاری:
نویسنده محترم، تمرکز اصلی خود را بر تأثیر قرآن کریم در حیات فردی سلف معطوف داشته است. از آنجا که ابعاد خصوصی زندگی پیشینیان غالباً مستتر و فاقد مستندات جامع است، تحلیل‌های ارائه شده در برخی بخش‌ها دچار سطحی‌نگری شده و به ذکر نام اشخاص و بیان جملات کلی نظیر (ایشان از قرآن متأثر بودند) بسنده شده است. انتظار می‌رفت نویسنده با گسترش دامنه پژوهش، تأثیرپذیری سلف از قرآن را در سطوح کلان‌تری همچون نظام قانون‌گذاری (تقنین)، مناسبات پیچیده اجتماعی و ساختارهای خانوادگی مورد واکاوی قرار دهد.
از منظر روش‌شناسی مطالعات دینی، یکی از کاستی‌های بنیادین اثر حاضر، فروکاستن مفاهیم کلان قرآنی به ساحت زیست فردی و ذهنی (Subjective) سلف است. در حالی که قرآن کریم به عنوان یک مانیفست جامع، مدعیِ سازمان‌دهی به تمامی ابعاد حیات انسانی است، نویسنده با اتخاذ رویکردی توصیفی به جای تحلیلی، از واکاوی نقش قرآن در ساختار کلان جامعه‌شناختی و نظام‌واره‌های حقوقی (تقنین) بازمانده است. این تمرکزِ بیش‌ از حد بر احوالات درونی که غالباً نیز ماهیتی انتزاعی و غیرقابل‌سنجش دارند، منجر به ایجاد نوعی گسست محتوایی شده است؛ به طوری که در بسیاری از فصول، مرز میان «سلوک قرآنی» و «سیره‌نگاری عمومی» از میان رفته و متن از غایت اصلی خود که تبیینِ چگونگیِ ابتنایِ تمدنِ سلف بر وحی است، فاصله گرفته است. این رویکرد، پتانسیل کتاب را در حد یک اثر تذکره‌ای محدود کرده و مانع از تبدیل آن به یک منبع مرجع در حوزه اخلاق کاربردی و حقوق اسلامی گشته است.
۲. انحراف از موضوع محوری و اختلاط با سیره
در بخش‌های متعددی از کتاب، انسجام محتوایی حفظ نشده و مباحث از تمرکز بر (رابطه با قرآن) خارج شده و به سمت (سیرت عمومی سلف) گرایش یافته است. این خروج از موضوع باعث شده است که مرز میان کتب شرح‌حال‌نگاری و کتب تخصصیِ سلوک قرآنی در هم آمیزد.
۳. چالش‌های استناد و اعتبار‌سنجی (روش تحقیق)
یکی از نقیصه‌های بارز در ترجمه فارسی این اثر، فقدان ارجاع‌دهی دقیق است. بسیاری از نقل‌قول‌ها و حکایات بدون ذکر منابع و مآخذ معتبر تحریر یافته‌اند که این امر از منظر متدولوژی علمی، استنادپذیری مطالب را با چالش مواجه می‌کند. این نقیصه شاید در متن اصلی کتاب (عربی) نیز وجود داشته باشد.
۴. چالش‌های محتوایی و ترویج الگوهای رهبانیت
در برخی فصول، نویسنده به تبیین نمونه‌هایی از رفتار سلف پرداخته که شائبه‌ی ترویج رهبانیت و گوشه‌نشینی (ترک دنیا) را ایجاد می‌کند. با توجه به تضاد این رویکرد با روح کلی شریعت مبنی بر میانه‌روی، عدم تحلیل انتقادی این موارد یا توجیه نادقیق آن‌ها می‌تواند منجر به برداشت‌های ناصواب در میان مخاطبان گردد.
۵. لغزش‌های نگارشی و خطاهای دستوری در برگردان فارسی
در ترجمه و ویرایش نسخه فارسی، ناهماهنگی‌هایی در معادل‌سازی و ضبط اسامی دیده می‌شود. به عنوان نمونه، ضبط نام مبارکفوری به جای صورت صحیح آن یعنی مبارکپوری (منسوب به منطقه‌ای در هند) نشان از ضرورت بازنگری در تصحیح و ویراستاری نهایی کتاب دارد.

As I concluded reading the book, I’d like to have a few comments:

1. Glorification Over Reality: The book often presents the Mossad as an almost infallible force, prioritizing sensational storytelling over objective reporting. By framing intelligence missions as "heroic tales," it risks blurring the line between a factual historical account and a high-octane spy thriller.

2. Legitimizing Brutality: The narrative frequently provides "logical" justifications for extrajudicial actions, such as targeted assassinations and kidnappings, by presenting them as essential for national survival. This approach often serves to rationalize the agency’s methods rather than questioning the moral or legal implications of such brutality.

3. One-Sided Perspectives: A significant critique is the book’s lack of objectivity; stories are told exclusively from the Israeli point of view. It lacks the perspectives of adversaries or affected parties, resulting in a narrative that overlooks the political consequences and diplomatic fallout of Mossad's operations.

4. Image Cleansing Amid Controversy: While the book crafts a positive, formidable image of the organization, it downplays historical controversies and international condemnations. By omitting or sanitizing brutal operations, the authors appear to gloss over the agency's failures and ethical lapses.

5. Author Proximity to Power: The level of intricate detail in each story suggests the authors have an exceptionally close relationship with the agency, which may explain the lack of critical distance. This is further evidenced by Michael Bar-Zohar’s career; he is the official biographer of major Israeli figures like David Ben Gurion and Shimon Peres, and has dedicated much of his 35-book bibliography to Israeli politics and intelligence.
