Nobody talks about this part of using AI for design work. 👇

The output is only as good as the structure you bring to it.

I spent 3 months getting mediocre results from Claude on design projects. Then I changed one thing and everything got sharper.

I stopped asking it to write things. I started asking it to think first.

Here is what I mean:

Before asking Claude to write homepage copy, I now run three prompts in sequence before writing a single word.

First: define the single most important action the visitor should take and the top three objections stopping them from taking it.

Second: build a messaging hierarchy the primary message, the proof points, and the emotional state the visitor should be in by the time they reach the CTA.

Third: map every section on the page to one job. Not what it says. What it achieves in the visitor’s mind.

Only after those three are done do I ask Claude to write anything.

The copy that comes out of that process is sharper, faster, and requires almost no revisions.

Not because AI got better. Because the brief got better.

The designers getting the best results from AI are building better structures. ⚡
