About Us
Khedmat Learning Institute recruits and trains disadvantaged youth from Afghanistan’s most deprived provinces to become future leaders. It offers intensive courses in sciences, English language and computer as well as leadership trainings to grade 10 and 11 students. The best students are selected through a competitive pre-exam and interview process to come to Kabul for three months extensive trainings. Students must return to their provinces and train their peers. Our Institute/ Model
In the first week, students receive trainings to develop their intellectual tools and critical thinking skills necessary to learn the fundamentals of their subject studies. They then take intensive classes in sciences, English language, computer and literature. These classes will prepare them for grade 12 university entry exams. Students also undertake trainings in effective leadership skills in areas of team building, strategic planning, decision making, and communication and public speaking. These trainings happen in the form of team building and role playing games, activities and exercises. Every week, the Institute invites prominent public leaders to give motivational speeches to and share their experience with the students. All students must strictly follow the daily timetable set up by the Institute, which starts at 6:30 am and ends at 11:00 pm at night. In 2015-2016 the courses are run in partnership with Shokoh School and Star Education Society.
