Our Honeybee Class enjoyed listening to the story Jasper’s Beanstalk and learning all about what plants need to grow. 📚💚

Inspired by the story, the children became little gardeners and planted their very own black-eyed beans and kidney beans! They had so much fun filling their pots with soil, carefully planting their beans, and giving them a drink of water.

The children will be taking their planted beans home, where they can continue to care for them by watering them each day and watching them grow over the coming weeks. We can't wait to see how tall they grow!

Last week at IDEA ELC, we celebrated all the wonderful fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who play such an important role in the children's lives.

Our children had a fantastic time creating special surprises and sharing messages of love to show just how much their dads mean to them. 🥰

🌟 Learning Through Play in Hummingbirds FS1! 🌟

Our wonderful Hummingbirds have been busy developing their early maths skills by working on one-to-one correspondence. 🔢✨

The children carefully matched numerals to the correct quantity of objects, helping them build an understanding that numbers represent specific amounts. This hands-on activity supports counting skills, number recognition, concentration, and confidence with early mathematics.

We are so proud of the focus and enthusiasm our little learners showed as they explored numbers through play! 💛

Our little learners had so much fun scooping colourful dinosaurs from the water and sorting them into matching groups! Using spoons to carefully lift and transfer the dinosaurs helped strengthen fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration.

As they explored, the children also practised colour recognition and early maths skills through sorting, counting, and hands-on discovery. Learning through play is always an adventure at IDEA ELC! 💚
