In the world of mobility, stretching has always received mixed reviews as to it’s effectiveness. I always maintain that it feels good and gives you the mental capacity to move more freely.⁣

But loaded exercises, that take the body to end ranges, under control are fantastic. ⁣
⁣
@Squatuniversity made a great point when they said “How do you expect to improve your bottom of a squat position, when you only spend a number of seconds there a week". Well this is applicable to all movements. 
⁣
The 𝐥𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 is an excellent exercise that loads our over head position, requires sufficient core control and tension, and opens up the t-spine. It can be loaded and progressed easily, it increases our ability to extend our thoracic and lengthening through the shoulder complex. As well as builds some good lats. Win Win. ⁣

1. Keep the hips high, core engaged so that you don't over extend the spine. ⁣
2. Tempo and controlling when lowering the load over head. It is an unusual way to load if you are not used to it. ⁣
