Some days, the weight of everything feels too heavy to carry. Days when I don’t want to do anything at all… and others when I want to, but just can’t gather myself. And then there are days I choose to try—to turn to something gentle, something grounding—and those become my best therapy.

For me, it is baking and music. In the middle of chaos, they become my quiet escape. Even if just for a while, the noise fades. My mind finds better places to wander, my hands stay busy, and my heart feels a little lighter. It keeps me from endlessly refreshing the news, from spiraling with every call from back home.

It is overwhelming, no doubt. Some days feel unbearably heavy, while others pass almost normally—like nothing has changed. But everything has. We walk differently now. We look around more. We look up more. We notice.

And somewhere in all of this, I realize something important—having a hobby, especially one you turn into something meaningful or even professional, can hold you together in ways you never expect.

This may be our new normal for now… but it won’t last forever.
This too shall pass. šŸ¤

Starting uni or cooking solo? Keep it simple. You don’t need a full kitchen—just smart essentials. And make sure your cookware is induction safe and gas safe so you’re covered anywhere.

Tip for young starters: Start cooking at home. Experiment. Get comfortable with your cookware before you step out into the real world—and carry the same pieces with you. Confidence in the kitchen starts with familiarity.

Cookware Essentials:

1ļøāƒ£ Fry Pan (10–12 inch)
Your everyday hero. SautĆ© veggies, cook chicken, make pasta, eggs, omelettes, grilled sandwiches—prep meals for a few days in one go. This will be your most-used pan.

2ļøāƒ£ Heavy Base Saucepan (1.8–2L minimum)
Perfect for boiling pasta and eggs, reheating food, making rice, soups, and quick one-pot meals. A sturdy base = even cooking.

3ļøāƒ£ Rice Cooker
A game changer if you eat rice regularly. Bonus? It doubles up to steam vegetables—super handy and fuss-free.

4ļøāƒ£ Prep Tools
One solid cutting board, 2 sharp knives, a peeler, and a strainer for pasta. That’s all you need.

5ļøāƒ£ Spatulas & Wooden Ladles
Use wooden spoons or heat-resistant spatulas. They protect your cookware from scratches and help it last longer.

6ļøāƒ£ Glass & Food-Grade Storage Containers
A few good-quality glass or food-grade freezer safe containers are a must to store cooked food in the refrigerator. Perfect for meal prep, leftovers, and staying organised through the week.

✨ Don’t hoard. Limited space needs smart choices. Start with essentials, build as you grow, and cook with confidence.

Woke up ready to crush a workout.
Set up my mat. Put on the playlist. Felt unstoppable.

Phoebe: Perfect time for chaos šŸ˜‚

My yoga mat quickly turned into her personal cuddle lounge. Every plank = paws. Every stretch = kisses. Workout? Cancelled by Labrador management.

Instead, I ended up giving her cuddles AND her favorite spa treatment — a little sponge bath with wet wipes (which she absolutely adores). Tell me why she looks at me like I just booked her a 5-star retreat? 🐶✨

Didn’t win the workout…
But I did win at breakfast: homemade granola, Greek yogurt, fresh berries, and a drizzle of organic honey šŸÆ

Strong core pending. Spoiled Labrador thriving!

Fresh out of the oven — beautifully charred, rustic, and unapologetically bare.
Dress it up with fresh berries and it turns irresistible…
but dressed or not, this Basque burnt cheesecake is just as divine.
Creamy at the core, bold outside, and every bite speaks a thousand dreams…….

Soft, golden blueberry muffins crowned with a warm crumble of walnuts and cinnamon — just sweet enough, just indulgent enough!

They’re not the breakfast we should have every day, but maybe the one we need once in a while.

No preservatives. Just the freshest ingredients, a little love, and the comfort of something homemade.

Perfect with tea, tucked into a lunchbox, or enjoyed quietly in the morning light.

Another milestone, another cake—my boy turns 15 today! I honestly can’t remember a time when I’ve ever bought a birthday cake from a bakery for either of my sons. From the very beginning, it’s always been a labor of love from my own kitchen.

In the early years, I had the freedom to experiment—cars, superheroes, Lego — but not anymore 😊. Now, I bake for a young man who knows exactly what he wants. The son of a pastry chef, and yet all he asks for is the simplest, richest chocolate fudge cake. No frills, no fancies —just pure, classic chocolate. And honestly? I couldn’t agree more. The simplest of cakes are often the best. They let the love and flavor shine through.

Happy 15th, my boy! You may have outgrown themed cakes, but never the joy they bring. ā¤ļø
