🛸 With the International Space Station’s advancement, NASA felt the need for robots to assist their astronauts aboard. For this, NASA developed a free-flying robotic system- the Astrobee Robot.

🛸 The system consists of three robots— Honey, Queen, and Bumble and a docking station for recharging the robots. It is a significant step towards optimizing human work-time in space and advanced exploration to future space missions.

🤳 Researchers Create a Low-cost Inflatable Robotic Hand That Senses Touch.

🤳 MIT and Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s engineers designed a soft, lightweight, Inflatable Robotic Hand to facilitate amputees to do several highly complex activities like shaking hands and petting a cat. Their work and research have been published in Nature Biomedical Engineering, a journal for engineers, researchers, and clinicians to understand diseases or improve human health.

The Didge Platform acts as an autonomous “eyes-on-site” 24/7 system by seamlessly capturing accurate visual data at construction sites, generating a bridge to the field between design models, digital twins, and plans.

It will be fully customizable and multi-functional to include abilities such as 360-degree video capturing and regular laser scanning to facilitate a field to BIM connection. The platform can also monitor environmental states and intensify security inspection on project sites.

👉 It is outfitted with three top-tier built-in RGB-D camera sensors and customized lidar SLAM for in-depth obstacle avoidance, including 3D mapping and localization, path planning, and autonomous navigation.

👉 FlashBot can track people and detect obstacles as low as 3cm and suspended obstacles at the height of 70cm.

👉 FlashBot issues a voice alert and a UI notification before returning to the docking station. With a capacity of 15.6Ah, the battery can last up to 12 hours on a single charge.
