Investing in Africa’s textile industry is a promising opportunity due to its young and burgeoning workforce, abundant natural resources, improving infrastructure, and the continent’s status as an emerging market. The youthful population offers a robust labor force for labor-intensive textile manufacturing, while access to local resources like cotton and wool can potentially reduce production costs. Infrastructure improvements and trade deals make it an appealing place to invest.

Much of West Africa’s cotton relies on rainfall. This World Water Day, we celebrate West African Cotton Farmers resourcefulness and their commitment to sustainable practices. Let’s support their efforts for a water-secure future.

In line with the global theme of “For an inclusive digital world,” our factories in Benin – Africa Textile Management Services, Société des Textiles du Bénin, Bénin Textile S.A., and Bénin Textile Corporation – actively celebrated International Women’s Day by empowering our female workforce (approximately 60% of our staff).

We hosted a targeted training session focused on career development, equipping them for the future of work. Additionally, a company-wide donation drive provided gift to our Garment Training Center female students.

At ATMS, women empowerment is a priority. In Benin, 60% of our Garment Training Center employees are women, promoting gender inclusivity alongside 40% men.
We organize a comprehensive breast cancer awareness event during October Pink every year, featuring educational sessions led by a doctor, facilitating discussions, promoting awareness, and providing on-site consultations for employees. We also raise awareness through mail, utilizing media such as newsletters and e-mailers, encouraging women to prioritize their health by seeking screenings and information regarding breast cancer.

It’s a proud moment for us. Benin Textile Team has accomplished an outstanding achievement by winning the Supplier Qualification Program (SQP) Achievement Award. The team's stellar performance in the SQP audit, securing an impressive 97% score, meaning achieving an advanced level of compliance to the standard. We applaud their hard work, management commitment and continual improvement. Look forward to witnessing further milestones as they continue to raise the bar in quality and innovation.
