Our Story

Expertly fusing the food and feel of a Roman trattoria, Florentine steakhouse and Neapolitan pizzeria into one buzzing restaurant, BASTA! serves up full-flavored Italian cuisine in a seriously stylish space within the Renaissance Downtown Hotel, Dubai. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed with the sights and scents of an open-plan kitchen, giving you a front row ticket to the theatre that is Italian cooking. Sleek, modern-industrial combinations of brick, wood and marble accents and a larger-than-life hand painted artwork of iconic actress Sophia Loren punctuates the indoor space, serving as the perfect inspiration to grab a seat.

Kick off your evening with a drink at the bar, where highlights include a variety of cocktails created by Sam Ross, the man behind modern classic, Penicillin, as well as home-made sodas and a selection of grape from across Italy’s most popular regions. With the soundtrack of both modern and classic rock music setting the mood, your evening is already off to a great start!

A wood-fired grill takes centre stage in the kitchen with the famed Bistecca alla Fiorentina taking its pride of place as one of the signature dishes on the menu. Gloriously crispy pizzas are made using fresh and seasonal ingredients and are served straight from the wood burning pizza oven, while pasta in all its shapes and forms is hand-made each day.
