Why does a well-placed graft still fail? In a high proportion of cases, the answer is not the membrane or the material, but flap closure under tension.

This hands-on course, led by Dr Larissa and Dr Marius Steigmann from Germany, focuses on solving that problem. Participants will learn to assess periodontal phenotype, select appropriate mucogingival management, and apply the Mucosal Detachment Technique, a method developed for major flap advancement in thin tissue cases of 1.5mm or less.

The Dental Veneers Programme continued with Module 3, Digital Veneers: From Smile Design to Final Restoration, led by Prof Hani Tohme.

Over three intensive days, participants explored the complete digital veneer workflow, from smile design and virtual patient creation to intraoral scanning, digital treatment planning, mock-up fabrication, guided preparation, and CAD-based veneer design. Through a combination of lectures and hands-on exercises, clinicians gained practical experience in implementing digital workflows that enhance precision, predictability, and communication in aesthetic restorative dentistry.
