FTX and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) have agreed to a $12.7 billion settlement, pending a judge's approval.

The CFTC, initially seeking $52.2 billion, will receive nothing if FTX complies with its reorganization plan, allowing FTX to pay up to $12.7 billion to creditors, subject to available funds. The settlement includes $8.7 billion in restitution and $4 billion in disgorgement.

This agreement resolves ongoing litigation, avoiding further legal costs. A hearing is set for August 6, and votes on the reorganization plan are due by August 16.
