It is with immense pride that I introduce these incredible artists who join me in spreading the message of sustainability at COP 28. It has been a great experience curating this group art exhibition with artists who share similar ideologies when it comes to ethical practices in art. The power of joining hands, and making an effort to change the accepted and established versions of art with a sustainable version is not easy. The beauty of art is determined by the innovative approach each one of the artists has adopted in creating exclusive art pieces for COP 28. I thank everyone for the support and proudly present “Existence” which shall be showcased in the Blue Zone, COP 28 from 30th November to 12th December 2023 at the Expo City, Dubai.

A Sustainable art exhibition - COP28 X Raisa Mariam Rajan

“Existence” is a group art exhibition featuring 5 international artists, curated by Guinness World Record Holder and curator Raisa Mariam Rajan from RCA, London. The exhibition is unique with each artist focusing on a particular sustainable medium to talk about existence at various levels. The artworks are exclusively dedicated to spread awareness regarding the tools and mediums that are naturally available from our environment. The existence of life in varied forms and the significance of acknowledging the inevitability of each one of them is the key focus of “Existence“.
Artist Dr. Devisree. S
Dr. Devisree is a Guinness World Record holder artist and writer living in Dubai. She is a former college lecturer with a doctorate in English. Her Ph.D. is an in-depth analysis of the mural paintings and sculptures of the Goddess in Kerala, India. Devi’s artworks were exhibited in many International exhibitions. She has been a panelist in many esteemed events across UAE.
The mission behind this exclusive art exhibition is to make art practices environmentally ethical. Each artwork becomes a statement of the values that bound the artists and the artworks together. The artists are reclaiming the power to create from nature as they renounce chemical-based mediums, embracing sustainable options in their creative process.
