The digital currencies traded on its platform include bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum, litecoin, Ripple, Tether, USD Coin and many others. Matrixport was co-founded by Jihan Wu and John Ge, who were both mining industry veterans and co-founders of Bitmain.

Dubai Blockchain Center was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai on the 15th of May 2018. The center aims to bring together blockchain thought leaders, developers, investors, and educators.
