Forestification

A single tree can become a sanctuary for life, hope, and renewal. Nature reminds us that reforestation is not just about planting trees—it’s about rebuilding ecosystems and securing a greener future for generations to come. Let us make every day a commitment to protecting and expanding our forests.

“Forestification isn’t a one-day campaign; it’s a lifelong responsibility.”

From Barren Land to a Green Harvest! 🌱

On the occasion of World Environment Day, faculty and staff members from the University of Sharjah and Gulf Medical University (GMU) joined hands to transform a neglected patch of land into a productive green space.

What was once a barren area filled with rocks, soil, and waste behind the residence of Prof. Dr. Anu Ranade has now become a flourishing farm producing cassava, sweet potatoes, moringa, and more.

This inspiring initiative goes beyond celebrations and demonstrates how collective action can contribute to environmental conservation, sustainable living, and food self-sufficiency. Kudos to Prof. Dr. Anu Ranade, Mrs. Suni, Mrs. Suja, Dr. Vidya Aneesh, Mrs. Jasmine, Mr. Shameer, and Javed Basil for leading this remarkable effort.

Together, they have shown that even in the heart of a city, a greener future can be cultivated.

In connection with World Environment Day, a two-day camping and environmental awareness program titled "Kad Orukkam" (Forest Preparation) was organized in collaboration with the officials of the Charpa Range, Vazhachal Forest Division, Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department, Thrissur.

The camp provided participants with a unique opportunity to connect with nature, learn about forest conservation, wildlife protection, biodiversity, and the importance of preserving our natural ecosystems. Through interactive sessions, field activities, and guided experiences within the forest, the program aimed to foster environmental responsibility and inspire a deeper commitment to protecting our planet.

"Kad Orukkam" served as a meaningful initiative to celebrate World Environment Day by encouraging sustainable living and strengthening the bond between people and nature.

By connecting children directly with nature, we are planting not just trees, but also the seeds of responsibility, curiosity, and care for our planet.

Because protecting nature begins with understanding it.
