finally surpassed Samsung
A report released by market research company DSCC
on the 12th showed that Huawei is expected to surpass
Samsung Electronics in the first quarter and occupy the
first place in the global foldable smartphone market for
the first time.
Samsung Electronics, which has maintained its lead
since the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip
series, is likely to show significant weakness and fall to
second place from the first quarter.
DSCC predicts that Huawei will occupy about 40% of
the foldable mobile phone market in the first quarter.
Samsung Electronics' market share is expected to fall
to about 20%, less than half of Huawei's. In the fourth
quarter of last year, Samsung Electronics' market share
exceeded 40%, while Huawei's market share was
below 20%, which means that the market shares of the
two companies have swapped.
