One way to kick-start a learning and development plan is by initiating the “Knock Know Kick-off”.
This process involves having employees engage in activities that involve researching, discovering, and understanding their current roles within the organisation.
The Knock Know Kick-off allows employees to get familiar with who they are working for, what their responsibilities include, how they can best use available resources to complete tasks or objectives, and where their career path may lead them.

According to Maslow a person's «low» motivation result from the dissatisfaction of some of his needs.

The work of Maslow makes it possible to classify human needs in order of importance in 5 levels.

This ranking corresponds to the order in which they appear to the individual; the satisfaction of the need of one level generating the need of the next level.

The idea is that we can only act on a person's «higher» motivations on the only condition that their primary motivations (physiological and safety needs) are satisfied.

Physiological need is directly related to the survival of the individual: eat, drink, dress, reproduce, sleep...

The need of safety arises from the aspiration of each of us to be physically and morally protected: security of a shelter, security of income, moral and psychological security.

The need of belonging corresponds to the needs of love and relationship of people: need to love and be loved, forming a couple, have friends…

The need for esteem corresponds to the need for consideration, reputation, and recognition.

The need for self-fulfillment corresponds to the need to realize oneself, to exploit and to highlight one's personal potential in all areas of life.

In summary, understanding Maslow’s hierarchy of needs can help individuals and organisations promote personal growth, employee satisfaction, and overall well-being .
