Breast cancer awareness month October. This year’s theme is: “No-one should face alone”.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women globally. The most common risk factors for most women around the world is increasing age, being obese, limited physical activity, alcohol use and using certain types of post-menopausal hormonal replacement.
For women of all ages, it is important to be aware of changes in your breast. A mammogram may be recommended.
Let’s all advocate, contribute and act to empower and support those with breast cancer, no one should face breast cancer alone.

Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC), promoted by the World Health Organization, is celebrated on December 12. This year’s theme is Health for All: Time for Action. Countries must invest in resilient and quality, equitable & affordable health systems with primary health care as the foundation.
Global leaders are urged to enact policies that guarantee access to essential health services without financial hardship and that ensure good health and well-being is not a privilege for a few but a right for all, through working across sectors with governments, the private sector, NGOs and civil society.
On this day, we must confront increasingly complex challenges that threaten humanity’s very existence such as the climate crisis, environmental degradation, unplanned urbanization, new and expanding large-scale conflicts.

Around the world on 1st December every year, WHO, together with communities commemorates . Established 1988, the day provides a platform for governments, organisations, and individuals to raise and against HIV/Aids and recognises the invaluable contributions made. This year’s theme is “Let communities lead”.
Communities living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, networks of people from key populations continue to be essential for progress. They provide essential , and support services, generating innovative solutions, promoting health, monitoring the implementation of policies and programmes.

Spearheaded by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), today is World Food Day and the theme for 2023 is “Water is life, water is food. Leave no one behind. "
This international day is celebrated to raise awareness about food security, hunger and agricultural concerns on a global scale. It provides a platform for advocating actions to combat worldwide hunger, enhance accessibility to nourishing food, endorse sustainable agricultural practices, emphasize the need to minimise food wastage and underscore the importance of eradicating malnutrition.
The ultimate objective is to guarantee that every individual has access to safe, wholesome and sustainable food while simultaneously preserving the planet's resources.

Water is essential to life on Earth. It covers the majority of the Earth's surface, makes up over 50% of our bodies, produces our food and supports our livelihoods. This precious resource is not infinite and we need to stop taking it for granted. What we eat and how that food is produced all affect water.

World Mental Health Day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992, the day is an opportunity for people and communities to unite to improve knowledge, raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilise efforts in support of mental health as a universal right.
The theme for World Mental Health Day 2023 is “Mental health is a universal human right”. This emphasises the necessity of assuring that everyone, regardless of age, socioeconomic class or background should have access to high-quality mental health care and support.

Mental health is a basic human right for all people. Everyone, whoever and wherever they are, has a right to the highest attainable standard of mental health. This includes the right to be protected from mental health risks, the right to available, accessible, acceptable and good quality care and the right to liberty, independence and inclusion in the community.
Good mental health is vital to our overall health and well-being. Having a mental health condition should never be a reason to deprive a person of their human rights or to exclude them from decisions about their own health. We must all ensure mental health is valued, promoted, and protected and that urgent action is taken so that everyone can exercise their human rights and access the quality mental health care they need.
