π£ Day 3 of Nzeve Deaf Awareness Week! π€ Todayβs video highlights the importance of promoting access to communication rights for all. For Deaf children, sign language often becomes their primary means of communication.
At Nzeve, we take a unique approach to teaching sign language to children. We believe in implementing a family model, where parents accompany their child to school classes taught in sign language. This ensures that parents can continue to support their child throughout their life, and the child can be fully integrated into family life. π
By involving parents in the learning process, we empower families to communicate effectively and create a nurturing environment for their Deaf child. Together, we break down barriers and build bridges of understanding. π
Join us in raising awareness about the importance of sign language rights and inclusive education for Deaf children. Together, we can create a world where every child is supported, empowered, and fully included. π€
π’ Today is Day 2 of Deaf Awareness Week at Nzeve, and we are putting the spotlight on Childrenβs rights! π
Just like all children, Deaf Childrenβs rights matter. Itβs crucial that we recognize and support their unique needs, ensuring they have equal opportunities to thrive and fulfill their potential. πͺ
Join us today as we celebrate the incredible advocacy skills of our Early Communication Development (ECD) children. These amazing young individuals are raising their voices and standing up for their rights. π
Watch as our ECD children eloquently express their needs and aspirations, and witness their determination to create a more inclusive and accessible world for all. π
Letβs amplify their message and spread awareness about the importance of empowering Deaf children. Together, we can foster an environment where every child, regardless of their hearing ability, can flourish and enjoy their rights fully. π
Stay tuned for more inspiring stories and activities throughout Deaf Awareness Week at Nzeve! π€

Deaf youth from our Sanganai Project have made great strides, developing a planting plan for their veggies and experimenting with watering techniques. Sanganai provides a 3/4-year education program for Deaf youth, offering certificates in carpentry, sewing, agriculture, and building.
The dedication shown in agriculture training is remarkable as they plan crops and optimize watering for growth.
Empowering Deaf youth, promoting inclusivity, and creating opportunities.
Join us in supporting their journey!

π’ Today, we celebrate Sexual Health Day! ππ
Let's take a moment to recognize the significance of sexual health for everyone, including Deaf persons in Zimbabwe. π€πΏπΌ
Sadly, in Zimbabwe Deaf persons often encounter substantial obstacles when trying to access crucial sexual health information and services. They are frequently left out of mainstream sources of information, such as radio broadcasts or peer conversations, which leaves them extremely vulnerable.
Here at Nzeve, we understand the pressing need to bridge the information and service gap that exists for Deaf persons in Zimbabwe. That's why we have been working diligently in recent years to develop a comprehensive Health and Wellness Strategy.
Our strategy involves working closely with healthcare professionals and local communities to promote Deaf awareness and provide training in sign language for healthcare providers. By fostering inclusivity and understanding, we aim to ensure that Deaf individuals have equal access to healthcare information and services.
Through collaborative efforts within our communities, we strive to create an environment where Deaf persons can access the healthcare resources they need without barriers.
Join us in raising awareness about Deaf individuals' unique challenges and advocating for inclusive sexual health education and services. Together, we can make a difference and promote the well-being of all. ππ

Here's a snapshot of one of many of our proudest moments at Nzeve - a standing frame crafted by our dedicated Deaf youth, designed to help a child practice standing on their own. It's not just a piece of equipment, it's a symbol of hope and resilience that our community embodies.
At Nzeve, we often have mothers seeking hearing tests for their children. But we've learned that it's not always about hearing. Many a times, the children are diagnosed with developmental delays. The challenge that arises next is the affordability of therapy, a hurdle many mothers unfortunately cannot cross.
But we believe in solutions, not setbacks. That's why we've initiated the Parents Communication Group - a haven for parents navigating the journey of raising children with developmental delays. Led by our in-house social worker, this group engages parents in exercises and practices to aid their child's development. It's a space where experiences are shared, encouragement is abundant, and support is unwavering.
And the support doesn't end here. We have a dedicated WhatsApp group that allows parents to connect, share and lend a helping hand to each other beyond our centre's walls.
We are more than just a centre - we are a community. We rise by lifting others, and here at Nzeve, we make sure that no one walks their path alone.

Today we would like to share with our supporters the incredible progress of Nzeve's garden project in Denzva, made possible by our wonderful partners Tear Australia. π
At Nzeve, we believe in inclusivity and empowering every individual, regardless of their abilities. That's why our Internal Lendings and Savings (ISAL) group focuses on catering to Persons with Disabilities and their Caregivers.
Sadly, many persons with disabilities are often excluded from mainstream development projects. But our unique collaboration with Tear Australia aims to change that narrative. We are dedicated to providing opportunities specifically for Persons with Disabilities to lead ISAL groups and select other members from the community to join.
The results have been nothing short of amazing! The garden project has not only transformed the physical landscape but has also played a crucial role in reducing social stigma surrounding disabilities.
Through the garden project, we are showing the world that Disability does not mean inability. π We are breaking down barriers and inspiring our community to recognize the incredible potential and talents of every individual, regardless of their abilities.
Thanks to the support of Tear Australia, we have witnessed firsthand the positive impact this project has had on the lives of our participants. From learning valuable skills in gardening to fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment, the benefits have been truly remarkable.

Earlier this month, yet again, we joined forces to make a positive impact on our community. Not only did we tidy up our streets, but we also took the opportunity to raise awareness about deafness and our services. ππ€
Throughout the morning we engaged with passionate individuals who were eager to learn more about deafness and the incredible work we do at Nzeve.
Deafness is an important topic that deserves attention and understanding. By organizing events like this, we aim to break down barriers and foster a more inclusive society where everyone feels valued and heard.
Remember, our services are available year-round to support the deaf community and promote inclusivity in Zimbabwe. If you or anyone you know would like to learn more, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Let's continue to work hand in hand to create a community that celebrates diversity and supports one another. Stay tuned for more updates and exciting initiatives from Nzeve! πβ¨

We're thrilled to announce the launch of WAVE, our brand new consortium with and Adult R**e Clinic!
