The abuse of cough syrups in Zimbabwe is reaching epidemic levels! These cough syrups are made with codeine. Too much codeine can be fatal! Whilst many may think this is limited to Broncleer (aka BRONCO) we also know that many other cough syrups are being abused. Some may think this is just a problem with poorer communities, but that is not true. We now know that the abuse of cough syrups is spreading across all levels of the Zimbabwean society. Bronco is illegal in Zimbabwe but many other cough syrups are not. Bronco is cheap but that does not stop people abusing other cough syrups. #addiction #crisis #drugabuse #codeine #coughsyrup #broncleer #bronco #sideeffects Youth Friendship Bench Friendship Bench Project- Zimbabwe Zimpact The First Step The Seed Project Communities Against Drug and Substance Abuse - Cadasa TRUST Zimbabwe UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime 263Chat ZiFM Stereo Star FM CNN International BBC News Africa BBC News eNCAnews ZBC News Online World Health Organization (WHO) World Health Organization African Region SADC Healthtimes Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe Southern African Development Community
