I live in a community were almost anything that violates other residents's rights has been ignored by the responsible authorities For instance ,illicit beer is sold from certain houses and from open unutilized places were there are no toilets and discarding beer containers almost everywhere, barbershops that have sound systems that play music at the most highest volumes disturbing our peace. From one of the barbershops that is near me and situated in someone's yard, you see youth having beer and making so much noise that we are now used to watching TV without sound because you can hardly hear anything.Especially a barbershop at house number 2039 Tynwald South.I have written to the City of Harare but nothing has been done and I was thinking of inviting the Herald for them to just see what really happens in this small community. Please help us stop the noise and the selling of illicit beer or any beer from unauthorised places. The youths are being exposed to unruly behaviour.Thank you.
MUTARE residents have been challenged to avoid littering and pollution because they harm nature, but maintain clean environs to help retain the city’s status as the jewel of the east.

Good evening EMA. thank you for all you do and continue to do to try and keep our city clean. I noticed with great distress this last week just how terrible the litter is on the Bulawayo - Vic Falls highway! I can only imagine what tourists think as they drive along.
Is there anyway that we can find some way to do a clean up? I would be happy to meet with any of you to talk through some ideas I had. Today I drove from Harare to Bulawayo and it is so much cleaner....not sure who is doing that clean up, but so grateful that they are!

The Environmental Management Agency (EMA),would like to notify members of the public that it recorded a fire outbreak at Pomona dumpsite in Harare, this afternoon the 3rd of October 2022.Initial assessment linked the cause of the fire to possibly illegal dumping of hot ashes at the site.Fire control measures have promptly resumed against the background of massive mobilisation of equipment. At the time of assessment, the fire was still contained in one section of the facility. This comes after the City of Harare was issued an Environmental Protection Order by the Agency to divide the facility into sections as one of the strategies of controlling fires when they occur. Therefore, the Agency wants to urge the public to remain calm as efforts are being made to address the problem.

We are in the veld fire season and the public is discouraged from starting fires outside either residential or business premises.

Residents are also encouraged to separate waste at source to recover recyclable, compostable and biodegradable material;and only send for land filling nominal non recyclable waste in line with the zero waste to landfill agenda.

PLAY YOUR PART AND BECOME PART OF THE SOLUTION.
