(NaturalNews) With the flu season on top of us, it's definitely time to begin taking care of our immune system. Now is the perfect time to think about growing, harvesting, and utilizing key anti-flu herbs that protect against virus and bacteria.

A real flu fighter isn't a cocktail shot in the arm; rather, a true flu fighter is a naturally antiviral, antibacterial, immune building powerhouse. One wonderful food medicine flourishing right among us is the elderberry. This flu fighting Spartan has been used throughout history to deter influenza virus. In fact, in 1995, an entire influenza epidemic was thwarted in Panama utilizing elderberry treatment.

Why do we need flu shots then?

With commercial ads promoting flu shots at every turn, it's easy to let other "more knowledgeable" accredited people think for us. For some, it seems much easier to pull up to the drive thru, roll the sleeve back, and take the cocktail injection right in the arm, driving off self-assured.

It all sounds nice and beneficial, but when it comes down to it, there are serious unintended consequences that stem from consuming heavy metal laced vaccinations and absorbing a "quick fix" health philosophy:

The number one consequence is the growing rate of autism.

Study upon study is finding increased levels of thimerosal in autistic children. Thimerosal, a preservative used in vaccines, is known to inhibit methionine sythetase by 50 percent in vitro. Normal functioning of methionine sythetase is absolutely necessary for the biochemical development of the brain, attention, and the production of an important detoxifying agent called glutathione.

With thimerosal levels increasing in human tissues, brain function is deteriorating in general. Autism rates in 2000 were 1 in 150. Today autism affects an astounding 1 in 50! This is a serious epidemic that needs further examination. Autism awareness isn't enough. It's time to confess the root causes and be honest about autism origins. GMOs, pesticides, plastics, BPA all destroy natural human brain function, and thimerosal from vaccinations is leading this dark parade.

Elderberry makes flu shots look ridiculous

Elderberry simply makes contemporary flu shots look hideous, ridiculous, and insane. Who needs to be injected with formaldehyde, mercury, factory flu strains all in hopes of not getting sick?

It's much wiser and safer to incorporate elderberries and other antiviral herbs into one's lifestyle, promoting prevention rather than an insane injection of heavy metal, autism-inducing vaccinations.

Why aren't we growing fields of this wonderful herb?

Elderberry is found growing wildly in North America, Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia. In 2005, researchers in London studied Black Elderberry and found that it's 99 percent effective in fighting the Avian Flu (H5N1) virus. In Germany, scientists conducted studies that linked elderberry anthocyanins to enhanced immune function. Elderberry essentially works by boosting the production of cytokines, which are unique proteins that act as messengers that help regulate immune response. Their studies revealed that elderberry's antioxidant powers were greater than equal doses of vitamin E and vitamin C. Furthermore, this activity has been shown to also decrease swelling in mucous membranes and sinuses.

Elderberry doesn't wait on the flu, it stays on the offensive

Since flu viruses cannot replicate themselves, they use DNA from living cells to survive. To achieve their destruction, flu viruses puncture living cell walls with spiky features called hemagglutinin. This flu virus invasion can be completely prevented with elderberry because elderberry effectively disarms the spikes and halts the action of their enzymes.

Essentially, elderberry's cytokine production prevents flu virus invasion before it ever takes hold - a much more effective strategy than heavy-metal-laced flu shot injections.

Stress has become synonymous with our fast paced modern way of living.

Power-packed with antioxidants, essential amino acids, trace minerals and omegas this little red berry is a long revered longevity food and is one of the top medicinal foods in Chinese Medicine.

This chlorophyll-rich, blue-green algae is one of the highest bio-available protein source foods on the planet. It is a complete protein containing all the essential amino acids. Also packed with B vitamins to keep you happy and energized.

Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver. The liver can become inflamed as a result of chronic, excessive consumption of alcohol, exposure to toxic chemicals, allergic reactions, or overdoses of some prescription drugs, but it is most commonly caused by viral infection. Most cases of viral hepatitis tend to be acute, that is, they generally last for a few weeks. Chronic hepatitis is an inflammation that lasts more than six months.
At least seven different hepatitis viruses cause liver infection, so blood tests are needed for an accurate diagnosis. While some forms can be spread through casual contact, the more serious forms are transmitted primarily through infusions of tainted blood, sexual contact, and, among intravenous drug users, sharing hypodeuilic needles. Hepatitis symptoms vary widely. Initially they may include flulike complaints, such as malaise and loss of appetite. Later symptoms may include fever, nausea, sensitivity to light, vomiting, headache, swollen joints, dark urine, abdominal discomfort, and jaundice. Symptoms vary because the liver is an extremely robust organ, able to function even if large portions are destroyed.
In chronic hepatitis, the nutrients ordinarily distributed by the liver become unavailable. Low blood-sugar levels and fatigue result. Chronic hepatitis also keeps the liver from breaking down the toxins it normally removes from the body. The buildup of toxins in the bloodstream can result in depression, delirium, or loss of short-term memory. Toxic buildup also can cause jaundice, a condition in which the skin and eyes turn any color from faint yellow to bright tangerine. Frequently, however, there is no change in skin color at all.
The destructive agent in viral hepatitis is not the virus, but rather the immune system itself. As long as the virus lies dormant in the liver cells, it is undetectable to the immune system. When the virus begins to multiply, however, immune-system cells engulf and destroy the cell. Thus, the immune response destroys liver tissue and causes the most serious symptoms of hepatitis. Asymptomatic viral hepatitis may wait for months or years for a "trigger"—such as a drinking binge, or exposure to a poisonous chemical, or the use of certain prescription drugs—to manifest itself. This trigger stresses the liver and activates the infection. When that happens, symptoms appear.
Conventional treatment uses several different types of drugs. Be aware that some herbs may have a negative impact on the liver and/or interact negatively with conventional medicines. Always work with a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Home Remedies for Hepatitis #1: Artichoke increases the effectiveness of liver function.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #2: Ayurvedic medicine has used beets to promote the regeneration of liver cells.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #3: Burdock and dandelion are important for cleansing the liver and the bloodstream.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #4: Studies have shown licorice to be effective in treating viral hepatitis, particularly chronic active hepatitis, due to its well-documented antiviral activity.
Caution: Do not use this herb on a daily basis for more than seven days in a row. Avoid if you have high blood pressure.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #5: Ligustrum is an immune restorative and anti-inflammatory agent.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #6: Milk thistle extract contains silymarin, a flavonoid that has been shown to aid in healing and rebuilding the liver. It can be taken in capsule or alcohol-free extract form. Take 200 to 400 milligrams three times daily.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #7: Olive leaf extract is a potent antifungal agent.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #8: Phyllanthus, an Ayurvedic herb, is useful for hepatitis B. After an initial bout with the virus, you can become symptom-free but still remain a carrier of the disease. This herb is said to eradicate carrier-status hepatitis B in some cases.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #9: Schizandra is a Chinese herb used to protect the liver.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #10: Scutellaria, also known as Baikal skullcap or Chinese skullcap, is a Chinese herb that is a powerful antioxidant.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #11: Turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #12: Other herbs beneficial for hepatitis include black radish, green tea, red clover, and yellow dock.

Home Remedies for Hepatitis #13: Eat a raw vegetable and fruit diet for two to four weeks. Start this diet with a cleansing fast.

Home Remedies for Hepatitis #14: Especially when symptoms are acute, take care to replace
fluids by drinking vegetable broth, diluted vegetable juices, and herbal teas.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #15: Take 30 milligrams of zinc daily. The changes in virally
infected liver cells that cause cirrhosis involve an imbalance of zinc and copper, with copper in excess. Copper, an oxidant, can damage the walls of cells, and zinc displaces copper from the cells.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #16: Take 500 to 1,000 milligrams of liver extracts daily. Over a period of three to six months, the use of liver extracts lowers liver enzyme levels.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #17: Avoid fatty foods entirely, and limit protein intake to between 3 and 6 ounces (100 to 200 grams) a day.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #18: Avoid stale or moldy bakery products and grains. At least in laboratory studies, the fungus byproduct aflatoxin amplifies the carcinogenic potential of hepatitis infection.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #19: Avoid alcohol in all forms, including that found in drugs and flavorings.
Home Remedies for Hepatitis #20: If you are taking interferon for hepatitis B, make sure your doctor orders blood tests to monitor iron (ferritin) levels in your blood. Iron deficiency cuts the success rate of interferon treatment roughly in half. Your doctor will recommend treatments that can bring iron levels up to normal

GET UP! It might save your life...

Sitting for extended periods of time is an independent risk factor for poor health and premature death.
An analysis of 18 studies found that people who sat for the longest periods of time were twice as likely to have diabetes or heart disease, compared to those who sat the least
Research by a former NASA scientist shows your body needs perpetual motion to function optimally. The good news is that there are virtually unlimited opportunities for movement throughout the day, from doing housework or gardening, to cooking and even just standing up every 10 to 15 minutes
To compensate for long hours spent sitting down at work, you could incorporate Foundation Training exercises; powerful simple structural movements that help strengthen and realign your body posture
Grounding, by walking barefoot outside, is another grossly neglected foundational practice for optimal health that you can easily correct
