Dear SRVS Client
At the onset of the Covid pandemic six months ago, for the safety of our clients and staff, we reduced our CONSULTING and OFFICE hours to between 8:30 and 11:00 by appointment only, six days a week. Our current hours remain unchanged. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
We welcome walk-ins for the purchase of diets, medications and over-the counter products during those hours. We are also happy to arrange collection for these products later in the day.
Thank you very much for your valued support.
Kind regards
The SRVS Team

Self-medicating pets has become more prevalent the world over since the start of the Covid pandemic, especially in cases where people perceive their pet to be in pain. After some relentless hoop-jumping by the organisers, the 2020 Blue Cross Challenge finally went off without any serious hitches. It was a great event as usual with many laughs, blisters and wonderful vistas. Thanks to all our generous sponsors, a very respectable sum was raised for animal welfare in our beautiful but beleaguered country. A sincere thank you to you all.

Dear Valued Client
COVID-19 update
In line with evolving rules and regulations laid down by Veterinary Councils globally, for the protection of our clients and staff, we will be implementing the following measures as of Monday the 30th March:
- Opening times for essential consultations, chronic medication, and food or pet preventive purchases, will be from 08:30 to 11:00 Monday to Saturday.
- Please try to make an appointment before coming so we can avoid congestion. For the same reason, please give us 24 hours notice for food and chronic medication orders.
- We will be manning our mobile phone (0775 281151) out of hours for appointment bookings and general inquiries. Wifi may be intermittent, so use SMS if you are not getting a reply. We will also be checking our email at [email protected].
- We are offering advice and consultation services via remote means.
- Staff will consist of one vet and one nurse. Our general hand will not be leaving the premises for the foreseeable future.
- Please maintain strict social distancing while at the surgery. Hand and equipment sanitisation is being practiced.

Many thanks for your cooperation. Any inconvenience is regretted.

Dear Valued Client

With the escalating threat of the corona virus in Zimbabwe, we would like to assure you of our intention to continue to provide normal services as far as possible. This includes clinical and surgical services, plus supply of food and pet-related products.

We have a restricted staff who are all virus-aware and are taking measures, such as correct social and sanitary procedures, to help protect you when visiting us. We have hand sanitisers available at reception, and are regularly disinfecting surfaces and POS machines.

When visiting us, please be aware of social distancing, to reduce the risk of viral spread. Thank you for your support during the trying times ahead.

We would like to welcome back all our Valued Followers after being off the Facebook air for a while. Since we last were in contact, we have been making a number of improvements to the services we offer. In addition to our work at the surgery, we have had a joint paper on pangolins published in the Journal of Wildlife Rehabilitation. The picture below is from a recent VAWZ outreach programme in the Honde Valley that we helped at, where on just one of the 3 operational days, 55 dogs were sterilised and over 700 were vaccinated for rabies! So lots has been going on, and we are looking forward to some lovely spring days soon.

Every year there is more and more awareness of the harmful effect of fireworks on animals. However, indiscriminate use and selfish behaviour continues. If you have a noise-phobic pet, here is some information that may help take some of the terror out of their night. If you haven't done so already, don't forget to talk to us about it as well.

We wish you strength, patience and fortitude until sanity returns.
