[06/17/21]   *Mission Statement*
The Arcadia Community is now a global phenomenon. It includes former pupils and teachers of Morgan High and Moffat Primary School and their families. We embrace the diversity of the Arcadia Community regardless of race, colour, ethnic background, religion, and sexual orientation.
But the Arcadia Community, like many others in Zimbabwe, is in crisis.
The purpose of this group it to provide a disciplined and orderly platform for members of the Arcadia Community and those in the diaspora, to assist the Arcadia Community Centre (ACC), the Arcadia Sports Association (ASA) and other community organizations in their efforts to implement a revival program that can transform lives and offer hope to our youth.
Our immediate task is to contribute to the ASA and ACC constitution making process, which is expected to lead to them uniting under one Board of Trustees and introducing diaspora membership and stricter provisions to enforce integrity and transparency in the financial administration of the Arcadia Board of Trustees and all organizations falling under it.

A message from Paul Peters....As a community elder with a long standing association with the ASA and ASC stemming back to my late dad being a patron and late Uncle being Chairman of Arcadia United as well as being a former Chairman of the outstanding Arcadia All-stars football club my prayer is the community members both young and old unite to enjoy the benefits of unity (love, respect, understanding, forgiveness, togetherness, Ubuntu, sacrifice and so much more)
Ensuring the commencement of clean up as per my promise at the meeting tractors were arranged to cut grass on the fields, supervising them with the assistance of Troy and input from Charlie Jones.
Employed 10 casuals that were equipped with slashers to clean up ( thank you Mr. Fisher for personal financial contribution toward the shared cost of paying and feeding the workers.
Whilst invitation was short notice I was encouraged by the presence of Troy, Zico and Dominique Raymond, who assisted in monitoring the casuals. Thanks to Lawrence Holland and Angus Martin's for pitching up.

These efforts express my love for the community and desire to see the ASA and ASC being saved, rejuvenated and available to our generations to come, a heritage and legacy we can't afford to lose.
Whilst everybody's efforts are needed in this recovery phase we need to respect each other.
Efforts by everyone that held the fort, made contributions financially, administratively and simple patronage must be appreciated and applauded.
If the present discord is maintained it makes it very difficult to unite and carryout our desire and wish to get the legacy back to what it should be.
The clean up is mammoth, experienced from the performance of the 10 casuals progress.

Required for another up coming clean up:
1) Motorised grass cutters/trimmers not less than 5
Fuel, consumables and operators
2) Axes
3) Machettes / bembas
4) Hoes
5) Slashers
6) water
7) Food.
8) Unity and togetherness.
I will take photos when the ASC is revived and spruced up complete with revamped water systems, electricity. Security fencing, ablutions, football franchise, refurbished basketball courts, a strong elected committee.
There is so much work too be done that needs everyone community leaders, business and corporates, local members new and old, Diaspora members youth and sportsman and women.

Initial expected funds to get a meaningful result and functionality I will thumb suck at USD$ 200 000.00
Let's argue and fight about how we raised the funds to assist the new elected committee that will be guided by the old, current or new constitution.

LETS UNITE AND SAVE THIS LEGACY.

October to December 2020 we brought the City of Harare bill from aprox 320,000 RTGS or Bond right down to credit 80,000 RTGS or Bond (never know what currency they use there) for Arcadia Sports Association. Many thanks to Shaun Charters, Jai Pinkerton and Simon Finch who assisted by running around on the ground to go pay this bill. A massive and grand thank you to
the stakeholders home and abroad who donated for this cause and to numerous to mention their names who helped bring down this bill.
Receipts and copies of all payments were shown as proof of payment to all those that contributed. The water bill was paid up. Thanks for steering the ship on the 'water bill' there Jay Pinkerton.
Tractors are also now in place to cut the grass at the juniors and senior fields of Danny Bismark Stadium but just waiting for the rains to subside. The grounds are are on ephemeral land so there is natural drainage into the ground. The tractors would sink unless the ground is firm enough. However i will keep all of you informed on the progress.
We might get workers who use streamers to cut the grass short first before the tractors move in. We are awaiting a quotation before we ask for assistance again for cutting the grass. Lawn mowers will not do at the moment.
Any updates or if you need information please message me on messenger and i will reply or try and help you understand what is happening at the moment. We need the fields for a monthly family and community fun day.
Besides football we must have games like rounders, chickens in the den, sack races, egg and spoon races, odd games and a luncheons so as the community comes together.

XSR - Zimbabwe

By popular demand, ARCADIA GOSPEL CONCERT #2 is scheduled for Saturday 2 Nov, at Arcadia Hall (ACC). The first event drew a large and diverse attendance of people from different churches, a rare gathering, and 'new souls' were reached.

THE NEXT concert depends on raising USD350 for best sound (PA, backline, instruments), and your help is needed. Artists are ready to go.

The concert is a project of SRCT, in partnership with ACC and participating churches and Gospel Artists.

WE INVITE YOU to contribute in this way to spreading the Good News in these troubled times. Please contact Chairman Durall Adams or Penny Yon via FB if you feel led to do so, or Wapp 0772394394.

Well done guys! And attending the Gospel concert was another winning move!

Today's match update !!!

We played at our home base Danny Bismark against Glen Norah 2 High.

Early the Team , Coaches and Executive attended the Gospel Show at the Community Centre and where blessed to meet Arcadia Legend Ahmid Mids Dhana at the show.

We attacked our Club House end and went ahead with a finish from Lele. The 2nd goal came from new striker Celopas Goto on debut and Munashse aka Yokohama rounded up the first half scoreline to lead 3 nil.

We allowed the opposition to get going in the 2nd half and they were awarde a penalty which they converted.
The lads attacked and got further goals from Jerry , striker Cleopas to go 5 -1 up.
A good build up resulted in Cory Jacobs flicking the ball over a defender and got the return pass to grab his first goal this season.
With time ticking away the lads quick passing on another raid found Cory on the left flank who dummied the defender and unleashed a stinger which the keeper failed to hold and was slotted home by Yokohama.
Final result today 7 - 1 victory and back to winning ways and the 3 points to keep up with the leaders.

Welldone coach Laban , assistant Joe , Manager Troy and team on an excellent result#ArcadiaUnitedFC#communitysupport#victory#3points

All systems are GO! for the ARCADIA GOSPEL CONCERT tomorrow, SATURDAY 27 JULY, from 1-5pm at 'The Hall'. Free for all, and all welcome!

The aim of the concert is to "Lift Jesus Higher" in our community. The colourful programme is made-up of strong worshippers who serve and fellowship in local churches, and the music promises to glorify God and satisfy the soul!

Among these are the worship team from FOUNTAIN of HOPE Fellowship joined by ABBIE MAYOR on guitar from St Andrew's Anglican Church, with CHARLIE JACOBS on drums... the Seventh Day Adventists acapella group 'REUNION', all from Arcadia;... the well-known pianist, composer and singer MOFFAT LANGEVELDT, with 'BY HIS SPIRIT WORSHIP' group from River of Life in Eastlea.... rapper DBLOK KEISLIM ...., and the trio EDEN LANG & The LOST & FOUND.

In an exciting new development, the concert will be joined by a group from CAMPUS CRUSADE for CHRIST, an Interdenominational organization, with a mission team currently in Zimbabwe composed of gifted young Christians from Zimbabwe, China and Ghana. We offer them a warm Zimbabwean Welcome!

It's a rare gathering of worshippers from different churches, all serving one God, and coming together to lift him higher.

Don't miss this!

The concert is an initiative of Social Renewal of the Community Trust (SRCT), in partnership with Arcadia Community Centre, and in memory of Pastor W***y Bismark who passed away early this year before realising his vision for this concert.

ARCADIA GOSPEL CONCERT: Saturday 27 July: FREE Indeed!

Jesus said “…if I be lifted up from the earth I will draw all men unto me” - John 12:32

The ARCADIA GOSPEL CONCERT on Saturday 27 July at the Arcadia Community Centre (‘The Hall’), calls all Christians in Arcadia, Braeside, and surrounding suburbs to join together to “Lift Jesus Higher” in a celebration of Gospel music, by acclaimed musicians and singers from the community - an exciting free afternoon event from 1-5pm.

Confirmed so far are the highly respected Moffat Langeveldt & ‘By His Spirit’ Worship; rappers Courtney Antipas and ‘D-blok Keislim’, veteran musicians Abbie Mayor (guitar), Charlie Jacobs (drums), Bert Yon (sax), Penny Yon (bass); the gifted Ms Eden Lang on guitar; the worship team from SRCT partners Renewal Ministries, with the lively John Orr as MC.

The event is the initiative of the Social Renewal of the Community Trust (SRCT), carrying out a dream of the late Pastor W***y Bismark of Arcadia, a member of the SRCT committee who represented the Pastoral cluster in the community until his sad demise earlier this year. The event honours his memory and work, and creates and strengthens a partnership with Arcadia Community Centre (ACC) who provide the venue, and music artists and singers who give their time and talents towards community development initiatives.

Pastor Bismark was always concerned about his community. He pastored the Jacob’s Well fellowship, and worked at grassroots level among the disadvantaged in the community. He could always be found present and helping people in times of trouble. One of his great concerns was the youth, and the current environment of unemployment and hopelessness; the Arcadia Gospel Concert was one of his dreams. The committee of SRCT feel privileged to take up the baton, and so the concert goes on!

SRCT are a registered Trust under a Board of Trustees, and current committee members are made up of movers & shakers in the community including Durall Adams (Chair), Shaun Charters, Glenda Lurrie, Raymond Van Beek, Lorraine Weier, Angus Martens, Penny Yon, James Devittie and trustees Connie Elijah, Darlington Masenda, Dave Broome, and Mousie Darrell.

Other activities by SRCT since its formal registration in 2018 include the staging of the fundraiser for Mrs DeSouza in cooperation with Braeside MOTH Club; support and involvement in the “Raise The Ceiling” fundraising event for Arcadia Hall ceiling repairs in earlier this year; two ‘Over 60s’ events for social involvement of older community members, and now the Arcadia Gospel Concert, targeted at, but not restricted to, young [and old] people from all Christian churches – and also those who don’t ‘do’ church!

It promises to be a fun-filled explosion of great music drawing people together and lifting Jesus Higher in Arcadia.

We are all invited to “Come celebrate JESUS! Lift Him Up! Make a joyful Noise! Sing! Dance! .... Make Him known. Share the love. Join others. Bring your friends. Invite everyone!

All Welcome – No Charge – FREE INDEED!!!”
