This was a hard edit. Trying to balance the gel colours and still retain the model’s skin color was something I had never done. And it’s a blessing the viewer will never get to see the amount of work and decisions that goes into making such a simple image. It was a pleasure working with the ever so brilliant

To achieve this look I used a fog machine and 5 stage lights in a dark studio. Minimal other lighting, just enough to illuminate the smoke. The lights were set to different colours except one which kept rotating its colours. This was my first time doing this there was a lot of trial and error. At some point we used so much smoke we couldn’t see each other with the model. But I’m happy how it turned out.

Some background on this shoot. We were using 5 stage lights for the colour instead of gels. We had never tried it before and not really sure how it would come out. But it turns I might be using stage lights from now on. It came out as intended. The team also made the difference.
