At Binghamton, we believe that a 21st century college education requires a deep engagement with the world. Our vision is to design a distinctly global educational experience and foster an inclusive campus community that infuses all aspects of college life with an international perspective.
That vision is reality at Binghamton. The University has been recognized with seven national awards for innovation in international education. Our pioneering Languages Across the Curriculum (LxC) program provides study groups in as many as four or five languages for a single class!
With more than 2,500 international students from 100+ different countries, Binghamton University is rich with different cultures and perspectives. Binghamton has won eight U.S. national awards for internationalizing the campus and its coursework.
We connect new and current international students to help them make a comfortable transition to the University, and also provide continuous immigration guidance and support services.
Our academic culture rivals a first-rate private university — rigorous, collaborative and boldly innovative — while our campus culture exemplifies the best kind of public university experience: richly diverse students, active social life and deep engagement within the community.
Domestic and international students of exceptional achievement may be selected upon admission to Binghamton for one of three types of significant four-year scholarship commitments: President’s Scholarship, Provost’s Scholarship and Dean’s Scholarship. There is no application process; awards are competitive and vary in amount. Full-time enrollment and minimum grade-point-averages are required to maintain eligibility.

Washington and Lee University
Founded in 1749, W&L is the 9th oldest college in the United States, even older than the U.S. Constitution.
Today, W&L is a top-ranked liberal arts university that continues to build on its innovative and flexible approach to education. W&L's motto, ”Not unmindful of the future,” reflects our commitment to an education that is relevant to the 21st century.
As a liberal arts university, students are encouraged to study what interests them, conduct research, and pursue global learning. Our hands-on curriculum is designed to expose you to all we have to offer and help you develop the skills you need to get the most out of your education.
One of the hallmarks of the W&L college experience is the accessibility of our faculty. With an 8 to 1 student to faculty ratio and 96% of classes enrolling fewer than twenty-five students, you can immerse yourself in courses while benefiting from the personal attention and guidance of your professors.
We seek academically talented, curious and engaged students from around the world. Our student body represents 49 states and 47 countries of citizenship, who are not only academically driven, but leaders in their schools and communities, dedicated to having an impact on those around them.
We are committed to making the W&L experience affordable through generous need and merit-based financial aid programs. That's why W&L typically awards more than $50 million in need-based financial aid each year and provides 100 percent of a student’s demonstrated financial need through grants, scholarships and campus work. As part of our commitment, students are not asked to assume debt by taking out loans as part of their financial aid award.

Today we give a SHOUT OUT to Mercy Lubeju a sophomore majoring in biomedical science at Southeast Missouri State University.
Her goal is to become a neurosurgeon. A pursuit developed out of a necessity observed in her home country of Zimbabwe where resources make it difficult for everyone to receive adequate healthcare.
Once she found her home at Southeast, Lubeju began exploring the various groups on campus. She completed the First-Year Leadership Program and joined the Outdoor Club, the Rock, Climbing Club, Red Cross Club, Student Government Funding Board, Emerging Leaders, and is officer in both the International Student Association as well as the Health and Awareness Club.
Lubeju credits the leadership programs, First-Year Leadership Program and the Emerging Leaders Program, for preparing her to take the next step in becoming a surgeon.
“The leadership programs really prepared me to be someone who is open to other people and who can share their experiences because most people, they get motivated by what you’ve done
and how you’ve come through some situations. That’s how some patients help themselves recover,” she said

Our admission decisions are based on a holistic, selective process, regardless of finances. Having the opportunity to change the world should not be contingent on having the money to pay for school. Richmond’s industry-leading financial aid guarantees that all students of all backgrounds can come together, learn together, and grow together.
We’re one of very few U.S. institutions that combine need-blind admission with a guarantee to meet 100% of demonstrated need. That’s a distinction to be proud of.

Middlebury is an undergraduate college; a graduate school for international studies; a home for immersive language study; a graduate school for the study of literature, literacy, and pedagogy; a leader of schools abroad sites that span the globe; and a home for the oldest and most prestigious writers’ conference in the world.
Middlebury is an institution that prepares students to address the world’s most challenging problems, and it does so by engaging them in the life of the mind and soul.
At Middlebury, we are committed to educating students in the tradition of the liberal arts, which embodies a method of discourse as well as a group of disciplines; in our scientifically and mathematically oriented majors, just as in the humanities, the social sciences, the arts, and the languages, we emphasize reflection, discussion, and intensive interactions between students and faculty members. Our vibrant residential community, remarkable facilities, and the diversity of our co-curricular activities and support services all exist primarily to serve these educational purposes.
With a curriculum anchored in the liberal arts and sciences and an approach to learning responsive to an evolving, increasingly complex world, a Middlebury education is as distinct as it is comprehensive.
Scholarship and research are not confined to the classroom or laboratory, nor even to a particular field of study. A robust offering of majors, minors, and academic programs not only provides students with a diverse range of disciplines to explore and to experience, but each discipline is intended to work in concert with another, fostering an evolution of cross-disciplinary collaboration that is at the heart of the academic experience at Middlebury. We offer a 21st-century global liberal arts education.
Middlebury meets the full demonstrated financial need of all admitted students. Our admissions decisions are need-blind for domestic students, including DACA and undocumented students, and we meet 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted students. We are one of only a few dozen undergraduate institutions to do this! We provide grant aid to approximately half of the student body. Student Financial Services values the opportunity to partner with prospective and current students and families to finance your Middlebury education.
Happy Friday everyone!
Today we shout out to Tariro Gurudza who got accepted into New York University, Abu Dhabi campus.
Tariro attended St Anne's high school for her O levels. During her time at St Anne's, Tariro was well known for her academic integrity. She even totalized a Chemistry Olympiad Test, Wedza District,2018! Tariro obtained 11As at O Level and 2Bs in Shona and English. Tariro was hopeful to get a Highlife Foundation scholarship with her O-level results but she got rejected. However, this did not stop her from pushing forward. Tariro enrolled at Waddilove High School in Marondera for her A levels where she obtained 15 points in Pure Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
Tariro was not only limited to academics. She also participated in Debate, Public speaking, and Chess. Through Debate, she became an activist and feminist. She started campaigning and fundraising for the promotion of girl child education. Through these campaigns, she raised money which she used to buy and donate stationery to her former school. At Waddilove, Tariro discovered her passion for Music and joined the Soldiers of Heaven musical group. In her final year, she was supposed to go to the Chess national competitions but unfortunately, she could not attend due to Covid. Currently, Tariro is part of the Division Z Toastmasters International Club.
Tariro has always been passionate about the medical field and its relationship with Engineering. At NYUAD she is planning to major in Bioengineering, on a pre-med track. She has already started working on a biofeedback project which helps post-stroke patients recover their posture. She plans to merge her love and passion for music and medicine by designing a gadget that produces different tones at different water depths to help people suffering from proprioception disorder to help them swim on their own.
Her advice to other students is “Try every opportunity and blossom wherever you are planted.”
