In the last year Edith Utete and I as Digital Wellness Africa have seen how issues around tech and children have become key and have accelerated.
Whilst the general perception is that Zimbabwe is still to catch up with tech, you will not believe how up-to-date some of the Zimbabwean children are in terms of the platforms they are accessing and how they are using them.
Their interaction with tech is so different. Where your alarm bells are blaring, they will go without a second thought.
We have children having AI companions, creating inappropriate communities based on getting 'clout' or recognition for doing the unthinkable, recording it and sharing. This is the tip of the tip of the iceberg. (intentional repetition for emphasis)
As parents ourselves we advocate for the whole ecosystem around children to come together to empower our children to be safe and productive online.
Our current campaign is 'Digital Citizenship is everyone's business'.
This cannot be a parent's, school's or government's sole responsibility.
The first days of engaging with schools was interesting because Digital Citizenship & Literacy were being viewed as additional subjects.
Let me quickly say, that Digital Citizenship & Literacy are life skills. They are just like knowing how to read and write. Our children need to develop critical thinking skills to navigate the digital space safely and productively. hashtag hashtag hashtag
Watch our interview with the Emily J. Nemapare where we discussed some key aspects.
Note that children, the elderly and those with disability are affected the most in terms of navigating the online space safely and productively.
Thank you to Emily J. Nemapare and her amazing team En Show_Zim for the opportunity to amplify our cause online and on our national broadcaster.
There aren't enough platforms and opportunities to amplify our reach. We appreciate this opportunity.
**Side note: Our jobs is not glamourous and is one of those essential but thankless jobs but the way Emily J. Nemapare and team pampered us and treated us like Queens was nothing short of imperial. Here is to more collaborations for impact.๐พ
P.S You may not believe it. but was no planning of outfits. We just rocked up in our African garb. What are the odds!

I have a confession!!! I don't know if I am the only one who is like that, sometimes my pace is slow and slower. There will be no changing up of any gears or any acceleration until I am psyched up to go for it.

I wonder if I am the only who has gone through this...

Thrilled to welcome Sharon Tanganyika and Jessie Nyoni (CDMP) to OutLoud Pvt Ltd which is a start-up offering digital solutions serving individuals, consultants and MSMEs to maximise tech, the internet and emerging technologies for business, career and income growth.
We are looking forward to a mutually fruitful future and wish them the best.

It was an ordinary afternoon during lunchtime and I was standing behind this lovely looking lady. Nice hair, nice clothes and smelt nice. We started talking after some time, because the queue wasnโt moving fast and we both agreed that it would be sad if we spent most of lunchtime trying to buy. The lady in front eventually got to the till.
Her lunch and snacks were charged and as she reached her wallet to payโฆthe unexpected happened! A cockroach in a frenzy โ probably confused by the sudden light, ran out of her bag with an obvious determination to hide in the cash register and the till operator shrieked, grabbed her cloth for cleaning the till surface. Yes, it was swiftly put out of its confusion and was flattened quickly.
There was a stunned silence for a moment from the people who had seen everything or most of it. The lady in front was mortified. She quietly handed her bank card to the till operator. Didnโt say a thing to anyone and then she walked out like a model on the catwalk with her head held up high, into her beautiful Mercedes C200.
I learnt an important lesson that dayโฆ donโt move with the cockroaches. For the purposes of this post โ the cockroaches are the limiting beliefs, negative thoughts and experiences in your past. To have a fighting chance at a better future, you โgottaโ leave it all behind.
There is nothing you can do about your past. It has already happened. Itโs important how you perceive your past and how you decide to use it. If you see it as negative it will always weigh you down. It will be that frenzied cockroach that comes from nowhere, just when you think you got it together โ it will have the audacity to show up at the worst possible time to throw you off.
If you perceive your past from a place of gratitude, growth, strength, victory, resilience and all the good stuff, thatโs you putting the cockroach out of its confused state. You take away its power to throw you off. It becomes a butterfly that everyone wants to admire. The past becomes the struggle the worm had to undergo to become a beautiful story.
Choose to leave the cockroaches behind. Take time to investigate what is holding you back from becoming the person you want to be. Why are you bound by the ridiculous opinions and expectations that people impose on you instead of jumping into the arena of being โunapologetically youโ. Face the cockroaches and focus on creating the future you want. Itโs a long journey, but itโs worthwhile. I left my cockroaches, there is no room for them in my future.
What are your cockroaches?
What is stopping you from becoming who you want to be or creating the future you want?
Deal with them.
xoxo Loveness

I proved that it's possible even now to generate income using WhatsApp. It's not a walk in the park, but possible and it can generate decent income.
It is possible to make money from your phone or tab using WhatsApp - My Experience I have been doing Digital Skills Development Speaking, Training, Coaching & Mentorship for years now and I would boldly challenge the audience or students to 'make money from your phone/tab' and follow up with the question, 'How smart is a smart phone that cannot make money for you?' Cheeky! I know

My Vision -
Happy South Africa. Today I ride on that monumental day to add my voice to the thousands before me to speak out about what is dear to me , and .
We need to have the basics of connectivity, access to power and digital devices to bridge the ever-widening digital access gap. It's not a job for one person but for every stakeholder. I am living proof and a walking advert of what is possible as a largely self-taught Digital Marketer, Graphics Designer, Web Developer, who has gone into Artificial Intelligence, Digital Skills Development & Digital Entrepreneurship. I have slightly over a decade of experience. Digital skills changed my life, and I believe they can change other lives too.
I am a former International NGO Accountant with 12 years who pivoted into the digital space. I am a product of many content-dense, educational and topic-focused websites, social media accounts, videos, articles and brands.

It's one of my favourite months of the year! Women can support each other and create footpaths for those coming after them to follow. We can collaborate, mentor, network and support each other because we have more in common against us than against each other.
As a there are places I have been where we are the minority. We still have communities where girls are raised to get married. We have communities where girls do not know how to switch on a computer. We have communities where you and I can make a difference not by huge sums of money but by:
1) daring to go after opportunities,
2) succeeding at what we do,
3) circling back to share our stories so others can glean from them.
This month is a special reminder and opportunity to raise the banner of women who will be brave enough to stand for something and be willing to come together to achieve success. Let's connect. Let's network. Let's collaborate.

My Speaking Topic:
The Future of Digital Marketing - An AI-Powered Perspective
It has been 10 years since I ventured into the Digital Marketing. I am an ex-International NGO Accountant with 12 years experience who is largely self-taught in Digital Marketing, Website Development, Graphics Design, Digital Skills Development & Digital Entrepreneurship.
When I started Digital Marketing, it was called Online Advertising. It didn't have the hype it has now. I started when it was a dream to have a website as an individual. You had to comb through a lot of Search Engine Result Pages to populate information. It required mental tenacity and mental work to come up with conclusive information for a report or consultancy or advisory services.
Fast forward, we are now faced with AI, a disruptive technology that has now changed how we create content, search for information, access information, and even the speed we process huge/gi-normous data. Digital Marketing has changed too. Talk about personalisation, predictive marketing, customer insights, intellectual property rights, Search Engine optimisation etc etc.
I could write a book about this. Definitely we need a multi-stakeholder approach in terms of regulation, policy formulation, ethical use of AI, AI for education, access to AI, AI for business and a whole lot more. As long as you are online you do a percentage of Digital Marketing intentionally or otherwise.
I am looking forward to the insights that will be gleaned from this conference. Also looking forward to implementation post-conference.

The first time I interacted with AI I had a mixture of feelings. Excitement and fear all in one. I hardly slept for days testing to see what was possible. Yes, I had to work around the restrictions to access the tool BUT that is history and now every software I use has AI in it.
AI has evoked mixed feelings because a lot has changed and will continue changing at a very fast pace. There are ethical questions, investigations around how we can harness it, the implications on our future as business people, learners, the education system, how our mind will work, creativity, authenticity etc etc.
Thrilled to be part of voices to speak into AI and what it holds for us. We need to adopt it and align a lot of things so that we remain relevant in a global context. Children now have access to it. We need multi-sector synergies and collaborations in harnessing this tech productively.
๐๐ข๐๐ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐:
As a Digital Marketing Advisor I used to be the human version of AI. You would ask me something, if I didn't know I would research or prepare a report for your query and now I have an AI assistant. At some point I was concerned about the view that I would become obsolete and AI would replace me.
The answer is no, it cannot replace me at this point. It still needs a human being to operate it plus you need to know that AI must be asked and interrogated to get the best output. We do not copy and paste PEOPLE. You still need to fine-tune through interrogative prompting it to get past misinformation, hallucinations, bias and disinformation.
We still need to master our areas of expertise to fully utilise AI and engage our critical thinking skills to get the best output. Even after that, we still humanise the output so that it sounds like us. Do not copy and paste. If we let go of our capability to authenticate and be creative slowly, original solutions will stand out because AI output after some time is easy to spot.
Being featured on the national broadcaster (ZBC) JCI Harare is delightful, to put it mildly. Thank you to JCI Harare for inviting me to be a guest speaker for the Harare Business Expo. I cannot fully describe the experience. It was an honour to be and they were graceful hosts.
I got to have enlightening discussions with the exhibitors and I got an understanding about their challenges, where they are excelling, we shared knowledge and came up with possible solutions. Saying I was thrilled is an understatement.
The experience has inspired me to create a WhatsApp channel dedicated to supporting businesses with information, tips, trends and other valuable updates around Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing, Digital Tools and Digital Skills to thrive online called DigiHub.
