Big thank you to Gavin, Strati and the entire ZNBF for hosting what was again a truly memorable Junior International at Darwendale.
I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for everyone's dedication towards this event.

To the Zimbabwe juniors and your Captain I want to say thank you for being formidable opponents, great sportsmen and a all round great group of junior anglers.
You kept us on our toes and didn't give a inch, all while remaining true gentlemen of the sport - something to be proud of!

To all the Skippers - Thank you for offering not only your time and equipment, but also caring about the juniors on your respective boats. You traveled from far to help out and I tip my hat to you gentlemen.

Last but definitely not least - thank you to everyone involved in the catering and making sure everyone had more than enough to eat. I can confidently say that everyone appreciated the early mornings and long hours you spent preparing delicious meals and ensuring that the boys don't go hungry - both on and off the water!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

Till next we meet, I wish you all thigh lines and happy hunting!
Neil Gulab lying 27th in the co-angler section, awesome effort keep it up and catch some fish

Thank you Shoes

Thanks to "Shoes" for the help in getting the parks boat at Darwendale back on the water. She had a hole in the hull and was taking on water. Andre answered the call, took her in and had her ready to reploy within a day. We really appreciate the quick turn around.

Getting it done

Anyone able to help fund the repairs please get in touch.

19/04/2020

Was a special day putting the drone in the air and getting some footage above Darwendale.
We will edit the footage and load some of the video and pictures here. Was a great day removing nets as well with over 5000m of illegal net being removed from the dam as well as 3 canoes being confiscated. The parks boat was so loaded it ran out of fuel attempting to make it home...

10/04/2020

Happy Easter guys, I am sure you are aware the effort that Clint and John are doing at present with Anti Poaching. They have managed to get the NP boat repaired and back onto the water. What they are short of is fuel and oil to keep the boat and service going continuously. Obviously a lot of the funding comes from CAST but as we all aware this has been canceled so they will not be receiving any funds through that means until such time it goes ahead. So until then we need to try find a solution to provide them with funding to keep the boat on the water. I understand that during these difficult times not everyone has or will have the ability to put their hand in their pockets. But if we all could manage to give a max of $10 per month this will go along way to helping with fuel and oil. This is purely a request to you and all your members even if it’s a fiver it all helps. Certain guys have really been supportive of this program and have really poured a lot of funding into it, but they will start to feel they burden as well, so if we are able to contribute any amount it will go a long way. Folks this is very much just a outreach and not a request, but if we can help please let’s see what we can do to help Clint and John to protect the very thing that we all enjoy. Please circulate with your members and ask them to chat to Clint or John directly if they are able to help. I think most guys are finding it difficult just to deal with their daily issues but if we don’t help the two guys who are really doing an outstanding effort out their own time, who of us will stand up and carry this burden on their shoulders, so please let’s see what we can do. Thanks to all of you and have a safe weekend.

CAST need your help...

Operations continue at our dams.
Darwendale, Biri and Masvic being supported by our non Kariba team.
Dams, including Darwendale are "closed" to all fishing including the legal fisheries netting but the illegal poaching has only increased. The darwendale boat needed some attention which John and I managed to do and as a result she was back on the water yesterday.
1500m of net was collected yesterday, 3 poachers apprehended and fined.
Thanks to John, Paul, Steve, Barry, Gareth and the CAST commitee for the never ending support you guys give me.
We are desperate for funding with our fund raising tournament having been cancelled.
Please if you can support us in these trying times we would appreciate it.

45 boats were registered for the first of the FLW Zimbabwe tournaments for the 2020 season. It was a cold and blustery day with large waves and high winds pounding Darwendale. Despite the conditions, the anglers braved the weather, bringing in some amazing catches and putting the weigh-masters scales to the test.
The coveted first place went to Karl Eckard & Kevin Simons with a massive 5 fish limit weighing in at an incredible 22.15kg. 2nd place went to Dave Beattie & John Coast with another superb bag of 17.76kg. The bronze was snapped up by brothers duo David & Richard Collyer with a huge bag of 16.72kg
The largest fish, which was amongst 5 fish that tipped the scales over 5 kilograms was caught by John Coast. A giant bass of 5.88kg
A fantastic job was done by FLW Zimbabwe, its’ President, Clint Skinner and his team of dedicated staff. Thank you to them for making this event such a huge success.
A very big thanks and acknowledgment much go to the sponsors of this event for their continuing generosity and support. Without their support these events would not happen, please support them!!
