Limit Processed Foods

Ultra-processed foods contain additives like sugar, highly refined oil πŸ›’, salt πŸ§‚, preservatives, artifical sweeteners, colors, hydrated fats and also flavors.

These kind of foods are growing health concern. Ultra-processed foods had been linked to increased risk for cancer and earlier death. If necessary they should be avoided.

Ultra-processed foods in addition to their low quality ingredients like inflammatory fats, added sugar, and refined grains, they are usually low in fiber, protein and micronutrients.

They are highly palatable when consumed, meaning to say they are simply overeaten and activate reward-related regions in the brain, this contributes to excess calorie consumption and weight gain.

Mostly they are associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and other chronic conditions.

Examples includes but not limited to: soft drinks, chips, chocolate, ice-cream, candy, packaged soups, hotdogs, biscuits, fries, salty snacks etc πŸ˜‹.

Acid reflux and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) are closely related, but the terms don't necessarily mean the same thing.

Acid reflux, also known as gastroesophageal reflux (GER), is the backward flow of stomach acid into the tube that connects your throat to your stomach (esophagus). During an episode of acid reflux, you might feel a burning sensation in your chest (heartburn). This can occur after eating a big meal or drinking coffee or alcohol.

Sometimes acid reflux progresses to GERD, a more severe form of reflux.

The main component of stomach acid is hydrochloric acid. The lining of your stomach naturally secretes stomach acid. This secretion is controlled both by hormones and your nervous system. Sometimes your stomach can produce too much stomach acid, which can lead to several unpleasant symptoms.

If necessary, occasional acid reflux can be treated with over-the-counter medication.

If you suspect that you have GERD, your signs and symptoms worsen, or you have nausea, vomiting or difficulty swallowing, talk to your Doctor or Pharmacist.

Food producers make you eat more sugar
They add sugar to food for flavor and make you buy more of it. Even an 8-ounce (245g) cup of low-fat yogurt contains about 11 teaspoons (45g) of sugar. This is almost twice the WHO daily recommendation.

Eating too much sugar may be devastating for your health.

Added sugar, which is the sugar found in sodas, sweets, and other processed foods, has been shown to contribute to obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and tooth decay.

Here are some of the ways to cut on your sugar intake

1. Avoid sauces that have added sugar
2. Reduce your intake of sugary drinks
3. Avoid taking sugary deserts
4. Eat whole grain foods
5. Limit sugary breakfast foods
6. Consider eating more protein foods
7. Consider taking natural zero calorie sweeteners.
