We currently have an opportunity available for a Data Centre Engineer. This position will be responsible for technical Pre and Post-sales Consulting Engineering, assisting in developing statements of work, network design, assembling bill of materials, implementing the proposed solutions, supporting, maintaining and attending business appointments with Account Managers as a technical lead. The ideal candidates should have a passion for technology in the area of expertise, be innovative and customer focused, and solutions oriented with a drive to improve existing business processes.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Experience with Data Centre design, configuration, implementation and optimisation.
• Acting as technical lead and escalation point for all Data Centre related technologies.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with networking, storage, server and backup solutions.
• A general understanding of TCP/IP networking technologies.
• Experience in working with virtualisation solutions like VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V operating systems.
• Knowledge of storage-related connectivity protocols and technologies (iSCSI, NFS, FibreChannel, SAN, NAS, DAS, block, etc.) as well as major vendors (HP, NetApp, Nimble, DellEMC, RedHat, etc.)
• Experience and knowledge of various software defined technologies/vendors (Software Defined Networking (SDN) Software Defined Storage (SDS), Server Virtualisation, Management, Automation and Orchestration) and Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI).
• Strong IT infrastructure technical skills including x86 Server platforms, Windows Server and Linux operating system expertise and SAN/NAS storage technologies.
• Experience solving system level problems including server failure, OS tuning, networking problems, and storage problems.
• Ensure success of customer proof-of-concepts (POCs) and respond to the technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and experience migrating on-premise applications to the cloud a plus.
• Experience deploying, configuring and maintaining a wide variety of server and storage hardware/software.
• Good troubleshooting skills in highly technical environments.
• Performing risk assessment/business impact for all changes.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with strong technology support, organisational and analytical skills.
• Analyses performance trends and recommends process improvements.

Qualifications and Experience
• BSc Degree
• Certifications - CCNA-DC, CCNP-DC , IBM, DellEMC, HP, VMware, Nutanix, Veeam, Azure, AWS a plus.
• 3 or more years experience desirable.

Shingirai has also been involved in research on various facets of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This has helped him to be always up to date with modern technologies and to be able to work with; and on products offered by different vendors.

Introducing Dorcus Sibanda who is our Administration Assistant. She joined our team on the 1st of June 2020. Her current responsibilities include being an assistant to the general manager, minute taking in meetings, filing of company documentation.
Dorcus is also in charge of keeping stock of stationary, consumables, amongst other administrative duties. She has been a great addition to the team.
